You should never rely on your disguise and try to not be seen at all, and scout has the smallest player model. Its also not your typical spy disguise that people are looking for (ie pryo or spy). I'm sorry but if you can't understand it's a good disguise in the right places you can't be that good of a spy.

Play as a spy with some TF2 pros, you'll know how hard it is then, trust me.

With pyro you rely on being close to people, but that can be difficult considering you die pretty easily. the best defense is the airblast, but that uses your ammo for flamethrower so it's a gamble.

I always lag on TF2, even if it's just a little bit. I usually only have like 40ping, but I lag quite a bit. And at the worst possible times! Like when I go to backstab or headshot, or I try to cloak to find myself dead already. :s

If they were smart, they'd be listening for spy cloaking noises. Whenever I play, that's one of the main things I listen for. With the Saharan spy set, it's hard to hear now, but if they're not using it, it's not that hard to hear a spy. 90% of the spies I kill are because I heard them uncloak and new pretty well where they were.. That Demo at around 3:19 should have easily heard you.

1:disguise, cloak.

2:appear behind someone,

3:backstab

4:run like hell, and repeat?

Personally, even though I don't play tf2, I know I'd main Engineer and Pyro.

Because when you disguise as someone you normally take their qualities. If you took Soldier disguise, you'd be as slow as a soldier is. Although it doesn't work for scout's speed. That's why it's easy to tell if a spy is a scout or not.

As for the "Strategy" that's mostly right except you need to blend in more. Alot of people spy check so you have to be convincing.

Disguising as scout =/= fail, if you rely on disguises your not playing your best. Scout disguise has a small view model, is believable at a glance and doesn't create the paranoia that disguising as a friendly spy does. Overall, its the most useful disguise.

Disguising as a scout CAN actually be useful if you do it in an extremely busy situation, ie. the pushing team being attacked by a bunch of defenders in payload. When you have to dodge rockets and aim at the enemy you won't even have the time to notice other peoples running speed properly. I've had lots of success by disguising as a scout in those situations :)

Very true, but even better diguise is no disguise. I've experienced many brilliant backstabs with that method. People will always spy check their team mates even if they saw them shoot someone just one second ago. Thus, when they see a spy of different colour running towards them, they are so wtf that they actually don't mind about it.

Not terrible, but there were quite a few failed backstabs, there. Also, why did you keep disguising as a Scout? It's not a huge deal since you were on a payload map, but Scout is the easiest disguise to see through because the Spy can't run that fast, and you were out in the open.

That having been said, it was a pretty nice little run.
