We have been with my german husband and friends from England and France in Bucharest and Iasi (at a meeting of teachers from the university, because of archaeological discoveries in Romania proving revolutionary first European origin), and ALL were amazed and surprised by the beauty unique architecture. Nobody expected the baroque buildings, Jugendstil, Gothic, Renaissance oder Biedermaier, Victorian, as in Vienna,Rome,Paris or Munich. Everyone said it was an incredible work of art, very dense!
Thanks Mastermindsro - a great presentation of Bucuresti and yes, it is impossible to compare one city to another jujupes. As someone who has visited Bucuresti, Budapest, Prague and Vienna, I can say that for me, Bucuresti is more lively, friendly & edgy than the others. Personally, I hope it remains a 'best kept secret', as Prague & Budapest have both become over-rated, over-commercialized & over-run with tourists. Bucuresti & Romania still remain unspoilt treasures. Long may it last :o)

I have to admit, I had a wrong idea about Bucharest! Once there, I was amazed with shuch beauty!! I just loved it and I'm always recommending all my friends to go there!! The architecture is just....something amazing!!! (but please build a decent airport... that Baneassa is a joke!)
jujupes Do you think Budapest is more beautifull then Bucharest you dont even know what is to live in comunism 15% of our country was taken by Hungary 5% by Bujgaria and 30 by Ukraina and 1 by Serbia
@jujupes If you haven't been here than just don't try to bring empty arguments.. There are things I like about Prague and Budapest and also things I don't like at all.. Every city has pluses and minuses. It's childish to compare cities and cultures..
@mastermindsro In Prague and Budapest are not so many buildings, scattered throughout the city, every corner, but only in the center and important buildings are in each capital, BUT NOT IN ANY CORNER LIKE IN BUCHARESTOR IASI throughout the city, and not every old building that has angels and Baroque like in "Bucharest little Paris" or "Cultural University City IASI", as is the Palace of Culture,National Theatre,the Metropolitan of Moldova,Pogor House,Philharmonic or houses where people live!!!
