What up? I have a MacBook Pro and I am using Record for Reason owners with a MBOX2 as a interface. I am following all your steps and patching everything the way you patch it but for some reason no vocoder voice comes out. Any ideas to what my problem could be? Thanks..
@DelLaNOVA10 Tough for me to say what you might be missing in the process. Sorry, all I can recommend is to double-check everything. Our forums can be very helpful if you need a group effort in trouble-shooting. This tutorial was recorded live so the steps you see being acted out on screen produce the sound you hear on screen. Recreating it in your rack should work just fine. Good luck!
@DelLaNOVA10 check your connections - i noticed that the video doesn't mention to make sure the thor device is selected - (blue highlight line around the device)... if you don't have it selected when you insert the vocoder, the vocoder won't be hooked up to the inputs - study the visual closely and notice the connections and you'll see what i mean.
this is the worst tutorial ever. they suck. how do you get it to record both at a time? mine only does one. propellerhead has great programs, terrible support.
@richja23 hye, i created a tutorial that describes the set up better, they left out alot of details in this video, so i covered them in mine, hope it helps
If u dont have the ASIO v2 to ear something u must have drawed some midi notes in the sequencer:Forget to say that u have to create on the sampler track lane a clip and in the synth lane u just play the notes
i dnt have Record yet but ill do this same way in Reason:Open a sampler such as drRex nnxt and so import your audio file(accappella)in it;then create a subtarctor or whatever synth you like and then create a vocoder:Now simply press tab on the keyboard and connect the main out of the sampler you used to import your vocals to the modulation in of the vocoder:
I downloaded the Record demo and think it's awesome, because I have Reason and dont really like my Protools LE! I've been waiting for something like this for a long time! But one of the main reason's that I wanted this program was so I could use the vocoder in real time (hearing as I'm talking) But from day one with Reason I could never figure out how to use the Vocoder! I understand everything else in Reason but not this! And after following the video step by step, I still get nothing :o(
Having trouble from almost the get-go. What about 1:00 where you say I should be able to hear the output from my Thor device.. I can't. I keep looking at your routing, to no avail. Not working. Also, you do not mention that you actually have to have a synth line already programmed to modulate the voice. The micro tutorials, although cool, skip a lot of crucial stuff imho.
Yh i found the same thing - i had to go looking for other videos to try other ways, but found after finding a good sound for the synth and recording the Audio, that his way works very well!
Reason contains the synthesizers, samplers, and extended sound libraries. It'll run by itself, but you can't record anything into it without an external app (e.g. record with Audacity and import the clip to a sampler). Record contains that much-vaunted ability to record and edit directly in the app (and some very basic instruments). When both are activated, Record uses Reason's libraries so the one program acts like both. And yes, they will both work on the Mac, but Record is Intel only.
Reason users can check out some of my videos. They are tutorials for a few slightly helpfui sides of electronica type music. also check out my songs.

what is the different between record and reason?
or what is record?
is there a version for mac too?
