I wish Kaworu had more character depth. I question what the concept of love is in the angel's perspective in comparison to the human perspective. It can't be the same since Kaworu lacks understanding of social norms.

Who cares about social norms? Love is love. And maybe since Shinji clearly WAS Attracted to Kaworu, it means Kaworu was right. There's no resistance to Kaworu's love in the anime.

@xena1fan Social norms was a wrong phrase on my part. I'm trying to point out what is the idea of love in Kaworu's eyes. The eyes of an angel. How does it differ from human love. I wish the angel psyche was further discussed. There is a lot of room for critical thinking regarding the concept of love in the way Kaworu, an angel, sees it.

@2strange4urowngood B/c they're bastards... They did that to Naruto too. Konohamaru made a yaoi pairing between Sai and Sasuke and you saw Sakura go into fan girl mode, but they didn't include it in the anime, they only had the yuri coupling. It sucks...

@yaoi4evandnevayuri Well, there is a gay guy in the series after all, that guy in Sasuke's group. This world doesn't revolve around straight men and women. There are gay people, transvestites/sexuals, sickly, crazy, comatized, dead, etc. people too. What people WANT to do and what people SHOULD do, is to try to reach out to several different audiences at a time. I've noticed that with One Piece. It's not about the romance, it has to do with the romance of dreams, not towards relationships.

I didn't know anything about One Piece since I was a youngin and just happened to get into it, but for some reason, I felt that something was off. Especially the sucker and the fact that smoke wasn't coming out this guy's mouth when it was like left wide open.

The thing that always depressed me about Evangelion is that because Koworu couldn't feel human emotions of his own he had to copy the sentiments of others. This being said you could argue that having no actually feelings of his own he was only copying Asuka's lovetowards Shinji. But you could go the other way and say that as a form of lilim born from adam, Kowaru may have developed emotions of his own as evidenced by his comments and his decision to choose his own fate at the hands of Shinji. Oo
