the money they could make off of charging people to see this exhibit could pay for the movie easily they need this "museum" to be a real thing they would need to clean the glass over display cases quite frequently though lol
I loved all of bungie's ads, they were so well done. They put so much effort into each and every one of them, and as a result created an unforgettable experience! well done I say!
@cardkoda No what's hard to believe is that these United Nations Space Command veterans would still be using such archaic United States measures such as yards and feet 500 years into the future when even now Earth-only US forces already range targets in meters thanks to NATO Standardization Agreements (STANAG). I would think that sometime between the invention of the Slipspace Drive and that war, the US would've already officially kicked the Customary Measures habit.
@RingSight91 well whats to say some even between the Human-Covenant War and now some event led to the unification of the metric and imperial system?. Also these ads from what i know were directed to more American audiences, and to keep things from being to strange they kept modern day American measuring system.
@chuckthegrunt117 Two mutually exclusive systems of measure cannot, by definition, "unify". There is no Internal Logic to Imperial Units, that's why SI was developed in the first place. And it's ironic you would use "modern day" with "American measuring system", because that system is anything but "modern". And is a meter and a yard so radically different that 2000 of either would be "strange" to you? How many schools have Track and Field, which don't use yards to begin with?
@RingSight91 Hey. So do you know when these things are suppose to take place? how many years after the war, or is the war still on? :/ confusing timeline
@tehBLAX What's confusing about the timeline? This is an ad for Halo 3, the events of which are supposed to be 500 years in our future. These old guys were supposed to be veterans of the Human-Covenant War, meaning they were young during the war. Of course the war is over, that's why the Museum exists. Do they build museums to commemorate as-yet-unfinished wars where you're from? O_o
@RingSight91 Well if the war is fucking over, why is there still games being made? BTW ive only played reach cos consoles are shit, and tbh the game is nothing special
@tehBLAX What do you mean "games being made"? Stop prattling about your opinion about consoles, nobody gives a shit. After Halo 3 there came Halo Reach - which was a PREQUEL to the entire game series and the war to begin with. That's ONE game, not "games". Go take your paranoid exaggerations elsewhere. You're not even on the same page as everyone else watching FFS. The ad is using a method called Retrospective Narrative. Don't they teach that in high school anymore?
@tehBLAX Since when do they teach "faggy media classes" in high school? How would you know if how "faggy" they were if you didn't take any? This sort of storytelling isn't even in any "media" classes FFS. It's basic English Lit which everyone is supposed to take. And I don't need to be a Halo player to appreciate a well-made ad.
BTW, you know you've lost when you trade Insult for Argument. You didn't even know WTF you were talking about before you jumped in here. GTFO and get your shit str8.
@RingSight91@RingSight91 Do you understand.... I saw this trailer, obviously the war is over in this clip, so i immediately assumed that the games showed that the war ended, and that is why this was made... Do you fucking get me now.. why would they make this if the game wasnt made, its confusing for non halo nerds such as my self
@tehBLAX FFS you've got about 11 years of video gaming history to catch-up on then. Forget everything you thought you learned in Halo:Reach. Go run to the store to pick-up Halo 1 Combat Evolved Anniversary Edition to "Start" the Fight all over again.
Either that or pick-up an old X-Box to play the original 1 AND 2. Then MAYBE you'll understand the meaning behind the marketing behind this Halo 3 video for the 360.
@tehBLAX 7 years ago was between Halo 2's and Halo 3's release. Halo 2 multiplayer on Xbox Live was in full tilt and the thing to do before CoD and MW became the kid-infested networks they are today. Still behind the curve there some. If you finished 1 you can at least jump into 2. When that's done you'll be able to appreciate the context of all these "Believe" and "Finish the Fight" ads.
@tehBLAX I'm afraid "seeing them all" and "playing them all" are hardly the same thing. But if you're watching this 2007 ad in 2012, then you should at least have seen some recordings of the ending of the 2004 game. Which brings us back to the original, "How are these 'future flashback' type of adverts be confusing for the casual spectator," question. By now shouldn't the notion that "MC 117 helped win the war" be common knowledge?
@RingSight91 Wouldnt 117 be alive if this takes place 50 years after? since hes enhanced from all that bioengineering and shit?, or does he die in the final game?
@tehBLAX Depends on what you mean by "the final game". If you'd take the time to look-up the vids for Halo 3's ending on Legendary, you'd have seen he was still alive and into hypersleep though stranded in deep space. Then recently the ad for Halo 4 came-out, where he gets woken to "deal with something". But honestly, you just gotta finish Halo 2, even on Easy, to get the idea behind these Halo 3 pre-release ads. Its slogan was "Finish the Fight".
@tehBLAX The game does not take place over "years". Please don't use the Release Dates as a reference, these aren't movies. All the action happens one after the other. You just gotta give the Dev Team time to develop what the next part will be. Really nobody even expected 4 to get made, but, surprise, surprise.
This Future Flashback style ad was just something to get the fans excited since nobody had done any serious Live Action Commercials for a Video Game before.
@tehBLAX Endings on Legendary always have an extra cut-scene after the credits showing a little something extra about the story. Bit of a reward for dealing with all that PITA to play on that setting I guess. I haven't even finished any of them on Legendary. Without YouTube I wouldn't have known what I was missing.
@tehBLAX If you knew that being a Master Chief Petty Officer was the highest enlisted rank in Naval Forces, you'd already know MCPO John 117 was already older than these guys back in the war. Here's a full-up museum, a couple of old veterans, do you think he's still alive after being commemorated like this? The Human-Covenant War ended in Halo 3, or did you miss that in your "wiki" reading? Really, what's with all the stupid questions? Screw it, I'm out.
@RingSight91 Yeah i do know that mcpo, is the highest enlisted rank... But isnt he suppose to be some big shot super soldier? You would think with all the enhancements that his life expectancy would be higher, and not that of a normal human
@tehBLAX Who do you think you're calling "little"? If this was a different life I'd have a kid in High School by now so watch your tone you little twit.
Hey People do not let Halo 3 die not much people play online.remember there being 20000000 people on line?now theres 4777,(thats just a estimate but there is about 4000 ppl online) 1332 on social plyer 622 on team slayer and 20 - 60 people on the others Post this and thumbs up to save halo 3
