Exceptional craftsmanship! One minor criticism though. Pot supports are generally a heavy feature on ultralight alcohol stoves. Its a much cleaner not to mention lighter design if you integrate wind shield with pot support. Saying that your stoves are very good. I would love for you to give me some input on your lightest most fuel efficient stove that weighs less than 10 grams.
@forexpipz If you are serious gram-counter, try 1g stove( youtube.com/watch?v=0oHHj2bzL5o ) or CF SideBurner( youtube.com/watch?v=2EPyGcMknwU ). I've proposed many type of alcohol stoves. There is some stoves that not suitable for hikers. But I think alcohol stove is not only gear for UL hiker but also toys for bike/car/family camper. It is depends on your choice which stove fits your activity.
Ok. Don't know the specs on that. Wonder what the weight is with the nuts/bolts. Probably not UL,....but that was actually incredibly sexy to watch you work with such intensity and precision! You get my vote.
You have the most concise instructional videos on YouTube. Everything is shown perfectly and leaves almost no question as to the material or process used. Thank you.
@JFAinMontreal At 8:38, there is a Deux Ex Machina: the bottom is not in place, and suddenly, it is in place and magically sealed against alcohol leakage. No dimensions are given anywhere. This is excrutiatingly dependent to the right size hole and precise configuration. I did not see any link for precise dimensional plans... Did I miss something?
Excellent video and probably a excellent stove ; nice, slick, clean sharp stuff ...
Im might try do do one for myself for the challenge and it look very fun to do, man you are a true artist.
But, im also a hiker and have most of my spare time outside in the cold mud, so this stove wont com with me, there's nothing nice, slick, clean, sharp that stays this way on a few days hike. Ill stick to open flame tuna cans for real purpose (since even penny or double walled pepsi wear off sometimes).

Who is this guy? How long is the tin can going to last with the constant heat? Thats not building a stove, thats engineering a cooking device prototype!
Excellent! 10/10 to you. Intelligent design, beautifully precision engineered, and a very well made video. As others have said - these are professional looking and would sell. they do not look recycled.
Finally!!! A precise and concise video of excellent building instructions for an alcohol stove. No shaky camera or 5 minutes of boiling water with stop-watches! ... THANK YOU!
Problem is, you need $500 worth of tools to make this stove from a soft drink can. Apart from that it's a great video.

Question: how to you prevent alcohol from leaking from the bottom? Did he use epoxy cement between the bottom and the outer shell?

JFAinMontreal 5 months ago
@JFAinMontreal The bottom piece has same or little bit larger diameter than upper piece. So, no adhesive material is needed.
