  • Problem is, you need $500 worth of tools to make this stove from a soft drink can. Apart from that it's a great video.

  • Exceptional craftsmanship! One minor criticism though. Pot supports are generally a heavy feature on ultralight alcohol stoves. Its a much cleaner not to mention lighter design if you integrate wind shield with pot support. Saying that your stoves are very good. I would love for you to give me some input on your lightest most fuel efficient stove that weighs less than 10 grams.

  • @forexpipz If you are serious gram-counter, try 1g stove( youtube.com/watch?v=0oHHj2bzL5o ) or CF SideBurner( youtube.com/watch?v=2EPyGcMknwU ). I've proposed many type of alcohol stoves. There is some stoves that not suitable for hikers. But I think alcohol stove is not only gear for UL hiker but also toys for bike/car/family camper. It is depends on your choice which stove fits your activity.

  • Does it work outside in the cold?

  • @totaldla Same as Trangia or other open jet style stoves.

  • I have about a gallon of jet fuel given to me by my friend. Can I use it as fuel for this stove?

  • @rugto I don't think the jet fuel can be used.

  • Perfection!!!! you make that to sell??? because I am a woman, I do now cooking huahuahhau not making the stove...

  • @nannalittle Thanks! But this is my personal use only.

  • Ok. Don't know the specs on that. Wonder what the weight is with the nuts/bolts. Probably not UL,....but that was actually incredibly sexy to watch you work with such intensity and precision! You get my vote.

  • The precision and work you put into everything you do is amazing, very much appreciated. Thank you.

  • what kind drill tool is it?...name? whee can i get it?

  • and for his next trick he will build a scanning electron microscope!! Excellent work man!!!

  • O ok thanks very helpful :)

  • At 4:04 I think wats that thing you used to cut the can? Please answer

  • @christianraysanchez It is Olfa's plastic cutting knife blade. You can find search word "olfa PC-L". I put the blade to wood chip.

  • Nice, very impressive. One question: do you have video showing how it work? thanks

  • @TheNugrohow Same as youtube.com/watch?v=3sQizuoLZec existence or presence of pot support.

  • what did you use to "strip the paint"?

  • @Kyledwardodge I use brass wire wheel brush.

  • Very impressive work. I really like the attention to detail. I shall try to make one to your standards. Thank you.

  • that has to be the bomb of how to videos i have ever seen.dam good job! thank you

  • The Thing is If i Tried This it would look like a battered tin can, and would probably burn my house down. Great Job.

  • I dont mean to be a noob but were do u get those drill bits at ,? In u.s ,. Lowes any hardware store?

  • @Jhfgsjdcd It is "pin vice". I think you can find it at hardware shop.

  • Seriously awesome work!!!!

  • claps wildly... great video!!!!!!

  • nice work.

  • You have the most concise instructional videos on YouTube. Everything is shown perfectly and leaves almost no question as to the material or process used. Thank you.

  • What a

cool circle cutter you have !

  • Question: how to you prevent alcohol from leaking from the bottom? Did he use epoxy cement between the bottom and the outer shell?

  • @JFAinMontreal At 8:38, there is a Deux Ex Machina: the bottom is not in place, and suddenly, it is in place and magically sealed against alcohol leakage. No dimensions are given anywhere. This is excrutiatingly dependent to the right size hole and precise configuration. I did not see any link for precise dimensional plans... Did I miss something?

  • @JFAinMontreal The bottom piece has same or little bit larger diameter than upper piece. So, no adhesive material is needed.

  • Excellent video and probably a excellent stove ; nice, slick, clean sharp stuff ...

Im might try do do one for myself for the challenge and it look very fun to do, man you are a true artist.

But, im also a hiker and have most of my spare time outside in the cold mud, so this stove wont com with me, there's nothing nice, slick, clean, sharp that stays this way on a few days hike. Ill stick to open flame tuna cans for real purpose (since even penny or double walled pepsi wear off sometimes).

  • no i meant can you specifictly tell me what is that hand powered drill called?

    plz answer ty!

  • @XBLNathan That is pin vice. It can hold 0.1-3.2mm drill.

  • where did you get that tool?plz answer

  • @XBLNathan You can get all tools at home improvement store (hardware store).

  • @XBLNathan You can get all tools at home improvement store (hardware store).

  • like a boss

  • Great build...the stove is nearly as sexy as the porn the music came from!!!

  • Impressive. Your as picky as me about doing it right I like it a lot. Very clever my friend. I believe I'll make one. Thank you for the video.

  • fkn legit! id buy one from you

  • WOW.

  • That is some really inspiring work there. Just great. Thanks.

  • Who is this guy? How long is the tin can going to last with the constant heat? Thats not building a stove, thats engineering a cooking device prototype!

  • Craftsmanship! Beautiful product and well explained too! Thanks mate.

  • very nice video but im not willing to do that much work for an alchohal stove u know what i mean but once again nice video

  • just curious, but , did u built WALL E ?

  • very nice! subbed

  • WOW! I'm impressed.

I wish i could do stuff like that, but i probably will blow it up on the step 2.

  • Where did you get the hand drill things?

  • Excellent! 10/10 to you. Intelligent design, beautifully precision engineered, and a very well made video. As others have said - these are professional looking and would sell. they do not look recycled.

  • Finally!!! A precise and concise video of excellent building instructions for an alcohol stove. No shaky camera or 5 minutes of boiling water with stop-watches! ... THANK YOU!

  • AND YOU DIDN'T NEED MINIBULLDESIGNS, i knew you could do it.

  • I want to buy one!!!

  • thanks i made one and its great :D

  • Jesus dude :o are you building it for some NASA mission ?Are they sending a hiking robot on mars :D outstanding work, a+ precision.

  • @Bazanteria No, I'm working with JAXA for Venus project (ha ha ha! lie lie lie).

  • Very nicely done. It's a work of art. What is the music used in the video?

  • @mindracer1 Free license music for personal use that found on net.

  • Back @ Tetkoba - yes, I have begun to view some of your other videos. Happy Hiking!

  • Really well done. Clear, precise and well illustrated, BUT I was expecting to see it in ACTION at the end !

  • @HDeanClark Same as my previous video "youtube.com/watch?v=3sQizuoLZec" .

  • Outstanding....

  • very well done.....I can tell you are a very smart guy
