There is no need to physically abuse/discipline a child. That will do more harm than good. It's not something that a child forgets when they grow up. There are more humane ways of teaching kids whats right and wrong in my opinion. I don't think anyone that has been subjected to physical "discipline" finds it a good way to teach kids things...
