No there not. I've spent the past three years studying both and they are totally different. Hinduism has a different Philosophical idea on all levels to the Sikh understanding to life & god.

To put it bluntly, If in three years you havn't scene the parallels between hinduism and sikhism then you had made your conclusions before you made assertions and you 'studied' only to find facts supporting those conclusions. I will not go into describing how hindusism and sikhism are alike because many sikhs believe otherwise and i do not want to disrespect them.

But this is what i have to say: Sikhism has only the best practices of hinduism and rightfully rejects the rest.

i remb goin 2 golden temple...such a beautiful place...i must admit that it is one of the most beautiful and well maintained temples of india..and the prasaad there is the best i hv evr eaten till date....i also attended the langar..the temple is surely 1 of its kind....

Golden temple - been there like 5 years before. such amazing peace i found there. peace and punjabis isnt that itself is amazing!

I insist on every one in india or planning to go to india this is one place one cannot miss to see. The experiance one can find is most satisfying to soul than any other place in india
