@cry92sis No it's not! You can cover up the exhausts all you want, as long as the air induction system isn't occluded, (and water doesn't make it past the seals into your spark plugs) then you're fine. You obviously don't do any off-roading or you'd know this.

And if you did, have you then tried to do the same thing with Landcruiser... Well, I did... I have a G55, and I have a couple Land Cruisers. I have the Mercedes for luxury with some (and I do mean SOME) off-road capability. But I have the TLC's for serious 4x4ing. I don't have the Lexus version, I have the real Land Cruisers, but it should be noted that an FJ Cruiser (which I also own) with a URD supercharger and some other engine mods makes 500hp/600+ torque and does 0-62 in 5.0s flat... that stomps the V8 AMG with a TRD V6.
Just tell me why this particular vehicle costs $100K? Are we paying for the Mercedes-Benz name? I'd rather splurge for the S-Class... It's more of an eye-catcher than this tin can. After you take the truck off of the lot, it blends right in!

Wow I wish I had one of these. I'd have Mercedes put the "Guard" package just because. Although I'm not sure how roomy the cabin is, or cargo room. I know people don't like comparing it to the Range Rover but its the only one that can be considered comparable. Land Rover is more modern but both have timeless designs (I like the G's exterior but I LOVE the RR interior). And both are 500+ bhp off road SUVs with S Class luxury. And 100k+ sticker tags... Ridiculous...

@jaksa95milos Mmmmm, no. First off, I own one of these. Second, I also own the G-Wagon (the real 4x4 version). Both are great in their fields, but there are a bunch of FAR SUPERIOR off road vehicles than these... Mercedes makes the Unimog for one. But none of these can come close to a Toyota Land Cruiser for off roading. Toyota is the only vehicle on Earth that can drive to the North pole, they get better mpg, Dominate at Baja, are used in Antarctica, can and have gone everywhere on Earth, etc.
@seventhSabra Mmm, yes! My uncle owns one G500! He modificated it this summer! Added new off-road tires, air intake system and few more things! He is off-road driving instructor in Germany, and last year he decided to come back to Serbia and he invited lot of people from France, Germany, Austria.... All of them are professional off-road drivers. There were Land Cruisers, Land Rovers (all types), few Humvees! Guess what first who got on finish was G class! Than another G, and then others! :DDD
@jaksa95milos Finishing first doesn't mean anything, especially since it wasn't a race. Land Cruisers are far better 4x4's, this is fact, it's not up for debate. TLC's can handle bigger tires, they have a more secure stance (wheels lay outside the body instead of under it), they can ascend steeper grades, get better mileage, have better crawl ratios, etc, etc, etc. That's great that he's a 4x4 instructor, but Europe isn't exactly 4x4 Mecca. A G-Wagon wouldn't last in Moab...
@jaksa95milos Like I said, I own the G55 and an older version which I've got modded out with 4x4 gear, it just can't come close to what a Land Cruiser can do. A stock G-Wagon can do class 2 trails, maybe some light class 3, anything more will damage the vehicle and you won't make it through. A stock TLC can do class 4 trails, and class 5 (the hardest) if you don't mind a few bumps and bruises on your vehicle. I own a Unimog and 2 Pinzgauers, my TLC's are more capable than them, G-Wagon - no way.
@jaksa95milos It already has an air intake system, why would he add one? And adding new off-road tires only does so much. The design of the G doesn't allow for much articulation/suspension travel. You'd have to add a huge lift kit and severely modify the truck just to put on 35"s. My FJ80 could literally drive over a G-Wagon's front end like it was nothing. Show me a G-Class doing Pritchett Canyon or Hell's Revenge in Moab, the Rubicon, Baja, or drive to the North Pole - TLC's do these easily.
@seventhSabra How do U think to jump in water deep more than 1m, and keep your engine working??? Extend air intake sys to get even more air! Suspension was raised by 10 cm! New tires and wheels! Computer chip was modificated to deploy higher torque at lower RPM. So this is a ultimate offroader! And about Toyotas:

@jaksa95milos It's called a snorkel moron, not an air intake system, there's a huge difference. And BTW, Land Cruisers can go through 1m of water without a snorkel, G-Wagon can't. No moron, that's not the ultimate off-roader, those modifications are basic at best. My TLC's can go through more than 2 m of water. I run 37" Toyo Open Country MTs on most of my 4x4s, the G can't run tires nearly this big, and tire size is one of the main factors in off-road ability.

Land Cruisers ARE the superior 4x4, that's a fact. Land Cruisers are only 4x4 capable of operation in Antarctica, only 4x4 able to drive to North Pole, only 4x4 able to reach Everest Base camp. G can't do any of these.G can't race Baja, can't do Pritchett Canyon (world's hardest 4x4 trail). Toyota dominates these events.
Land Cruiser is rival to GL (wich profed that is better than Land Cruiser)!

@jaksa95milos Mmmmm, no. First off, I own one of these. Second, I also own the G-Wagon (the real 4x4 version). Both are great in their fields, but there are a bunch of FAR SUPERIOR off road vehicles than these... Mercedes makes the Unimog for one. But none of these can come close to a Toyota Land Cruiser for off roading. Toyota is the only vehicle on Earth that can drive to the North pole, they get better mpg, Dominate at Baja, are used in Antarctica, can and have gone everywhere on Earth, etc.

@seventhSabra Mmm, yes! My uncle owns one G500! He modificated it this summer! Added new off-road tires, air intake system and few more things! He is off-road driving instructor in Germany, and last year he decided to come back to Serbia and he invited lot of people from France, Germany, Austria.... All of them are professional off-road drivers. There were Land Cruisers, Land Rovers (all types), few Humvees! Guess what first who got on finish was G class! Than another G, and then others! :DDD

@jaksa95milos Finishing first doesn't mean anything, especially since it wasn't a race. Land Cruisers are far better 4x4's, this is fact, it's not up for debate. TLC's can handle bigger tires, they have a more secure stance (wheels lay outside the body instead of under it), they can ascend steeper grades, get better mileage, have better crawl ratios, etc, etc, etc. That's great that he's a 4x4 instructor, but Europe isn't exactly 4x4 Mecca. A G-Wagon wouldn't last in Moab...

@jaksa95milos Like I said, I own the G55 and an older version which I've got modded out with 4x4 gear, it just can't come close to what a Land Cruiser can do. A stock G-Wagon can do class 2 trails, maybe some light class 3, anything more will damage the vehicle and you won't make it through. A stock TLC can do class 4 trails, and class 5 (the hardest) if you don't mind a few bumps and bruises on your vehicle. I own a Unimog and 2 Pinzgauers, my TLC's are more capable than them, G-Wagon - no way.

@jaksa95milos It already has an air intake system, why would he add one? And adding new off-road tires only does so much. The design of the G doesn't allow for much articulation/suspension travel. You'd have to add a huge lift kit and severely modify the truck just to put on 35"s. My FJ80 could literally drive over a G-Wagon's front end like it was nothing. Show me a G-Class doing Pritchett Canyon or Hell's Revenge in Moab, the Rubicon, Baja, or drive to the North Pole - TLC's do these easily.

@seventhSabra How do U think to jump in water deep more than 1m, and keep your engine working??? Extend air intake sys to get even more air! Suspension was raised by 10 cm! New tires and wheels! Computer chip was modificated to deploy higher torque at lower RPM. So this is a ultimate offroader! And about Toyotas:
Land Cruiser isn't better than G nor on road nor off-road! Nor it is better on power, nor luxury! And just to tell U! I am 15 but I am well knower of automotive! Also

@jaksa95milos It's called a snorkel moron, not an air intake system, there's a huge difference. And BTW, Land Cruisers can go through 1m of water without a snorkel, G-Wagon can't. No moron, that's not the ultimate off-roader, those modifications are basic at best. My TLC's can go through more than 2 m of water. I run 37" Toyo Open Country MTs on most of my 4x4s, the G can't run tires nearly this big, and tire size is one of the main factors in off-road ability.

@jaksa95milos Google "Uber FJ" and "TLC Icon Baja." these are just a couple of my custom TLC's kid. I have Land Cruisers with more than 500HP and you can get them up to 1100hp. Land Cruisers ARE the superior 4x4, that's a fact. Land Cruisers are only 4x4 capable of operation in Antarctica, only 4x4 able to drive to North Pole, only 4x4 able to reach Everest Base camp. G can't do any of these.G can't race Baja, can't do Pritchett Canyon (world's hardest 4x4 trail). Toyota dominates these events.

Even in Mercedes factories (4 years)! Why would he prefere G instead of Toyota?

TLC isn't rival to GL, it's rival to the best 4x4 from any manufacturer. Your dad is clueless when it comes to off-road kid. Preferring a G to a Land Cruiser doesn't mean the G is better, it just means he prefers the luxury over the off road capability.

Land Cruisers are driven by U.N. officials, and World Leaders because they are the best 4x4 and most reliable vehicle money can buy.
