dam i try to live life the same way but the alcohol just keeps seeping out of my pores everytime i pull an all nighter and women can tell no matter how many showers or how much calogne i use
the more vile, degenerate, deep, drunk, fucked up assholes you have in your life, the less you need bukowski. for fucks sake, i shit his best work in my waking sleep. i think thats why i like him.
Oh, how times have changed. He's on the plane, smoking a cigarette, having a cocktail. He hasn't been hassled, groped and in general, raped by the thugs of the TSA. This world would drive Hank to quit drinking!!!
This is great. I didn't realize how all of his work was completely and utterly autobiographical. I mean, I knew that but hadn't a faintest idea of the magnitude. Thanks for sharing this, man.
hello...i am from the UK and i spend every night alone in a room in India.I have been drunk for the most part.As I have read ell of Bukowski's work I didn't deem it necessary yo bring any with me and I have been lost without it.Now thanks to youtube I am connected to him again and drunker than I have been in a long time and i'm writing again so thank fuck for you.
To be honest, I feel that Bukowski is nothing but an existentialist with an alcohol addiction and a silver tongue. Kerouac, Ginsberg, Keesey, even Burroughs...they wrote for something, believed in something. I am completely mesmerized by his uncanny grasp of reality. HOWEVER life is what you make of it. He said himself "it means nothing unless you want it to mean something". Guy does nothing but fuck whores, beat his wife, drink, and complains about the world's circumstances. DO SOMETHING.
@seanhanna78 that's good man, i see you have taken an intro to philosophy class and now you feel you know quite a bit. So you are prepared and ready to fire off you pseudo-intellectual comments. First if we are talking of alcoholics Kerouac died from alcoholism, and what did he stand for again? Or believe in? Second bukowski "believed" in poetry, in which he was very passionate about (and wrote really well). I was going to write more on this but just not worth it.....
Anxiety, mood, and disposition are as relevant to cancer as they are to the chronic metabolic diseases: pellagra, night blindness, pernicious anemia, scurvy and pellagra. In other words: meaningless. All the prayer and good fellowship that the world has to offer will not save you from scurvy if you have a vitamin c deficiency, or the fatal disease pellagra if you have a vitamin B3 (niacin) deficiency. Cancerous cells are trophoblasts, identical to pre-embryonic cells.
the source to bukowskis alcoholism could be traced to his teen years, he lived his teens during the big depression, the food was bad quality and very rare, the brain needs good healthy food, he started to get depressed, and used alcohol to fight it
never saw this before. a great discovery, but unfortunately, i can't hear a thing. i can hear the other youtube videos ok, except for this one. crap luck.
i think the record owner was the onlywomen who really liked bukowski, the others were just blood suckers, even stole his poems, whos the bitch so sick to do that, thats taking a mans soul
@Razijall Hank i Štulić???Ni malo.
@GlennsMisfits Hello. They used some of the footage from this documentary in the 'Born Into This' doc. This one was made by Taylor Hackford in 1970, 'Born Into This' was made more recently.
I bought this on vhs off of ebay years ago (it was incomplete)
So its greeat to see it again in one piece!
Many thanks for uploading and sharing this great stuff!
(I think you could have cleaned it up a little though, perhaps added some colour digitally and also put in some pop music during the quiet bits).
