Muy bonito video, y muy bien logrado, pero la misma pregunta de siempre, no tenemos lo cubanos una rica musica, para poner de fondo una musica estrangera, nosotros inventamos la musica en el caribe. Mi respeto a Chaquira.
I used Shakira because it flowed with the editing, and I liked the song. Like I said previously, next time I'll do a video of Colombia and use Charanga Habanera as the soundtrack.
Many of the troubles come from the US embargo,no I don't have the answer to the troubles of Cuba. I would live in Cuba in a Heartbeat, I love the country, the people, I know changes are coming but I will enjoy Cuba as long as I can!
One last thing did you know that there are 25thousand Americans that go to Cuba every year?!
What I enjoy from that country is that they are a great people, and the people which I have met show so much talent, and have much education.I appreciate that they are lacking medicine and basic needs. That they are educated and are working at the servicing jobs in the Tourism industry (Doctor as a guide).
I'm Canadian and go every year to Cuba and have for many years and to different parts of the country , and yes we do tip, and they do take it,I've learned that sure some would like to go to America but others "NO", they are aware of the change of pace, the availability of drugs, and some of their relatives who despair in North America ! Just to name a few issues!!

mctonodef when you give money to your family and they spend it there where does that money go? the asnwer it goes to the goverment pockey that's it iam from there too..
In what way? the sole employer is the government, when you go overthere, even if you go to a foreign-owned hotel. The cuban workers are "rented" to those hotels. Those companies pay good money for those employees to the cuban government, in turn the government pays those employes almost nothing. The only thing you are doing when going over is contributing to their suffering.
In that case, you know that you're not posting the total picture. For those of us that have family there, it's a different story. Don't just post US-Miami-Cuban propaganda....
What is so bad about living Miami and having an opinion? Why propaganda? What am I gaining by having the same opinon as almost every single Cuban that has left Cuba? Is my opinion worth less becasue I live in Miami? You are just repeating what the Cuban government says to validate your point. People in Miami just want to see a Free Cuba just like every other Cuban outthere, if that is propaganda then I'll be the biggest propagandist in the world.
What I take exception to is your advise for people not to visit the island and that in doing so, we're only continuing to oppress Cubans. That is not so. The remittances from Miami Cubans is so huge, it's helping the economy in Cuba. Is that evil? Canada, and Canadians have done more to help the Cuban people than anyone; and for those of us who have family there, how is bringing necessities and money hurting them, and helping the regime?
Like I said at the beggining, When you go to the island you spend money, that money that you spend goes directly to the Comunist government which in turn pays Cubans a salary of 9 dollars a month. These Hotels pay normal salaries for them to the Cuban government. Cubans are rented to the hotels. In addition the Cuban government passed a law that forbids them even from accepting tips! All you are doing is paying the Government to enjoy places which cubans themselves are denied access to.
What about the money you give to your family while there? Does that go into the hands of the government? Can't your family buy things and live a little better?
I'm not talking about tourists in hotels, I'm talking about people that actually have friends and family there.
We have to send money to our families because we do not have any other choice. The Cuban government get 25% of that money unfortunately. When you are going to Cuba you are contibuting to the Cuban government's #1 industry.. Tourism.. While cubans do not benefit at all from that, all the contrary you are indirectly supporting the Cuban government. You can go The Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico, The Bahamas, etc. you do not have to go to Cuba.
The Cuban government does NOT get any of the money I give to my family! Every single penny I give them, they have. You need to get someone to bring the money to your family, instead of doing it the way you're doing. The government doesn't earn one penny from my time there.
I know if you live in the States it's different, and harder, but that's also a lot to do with YOUR government, and the Helms Burton law, etc.
"The government does not earn a penny from my time there" What do you do? live on air? The Cuban government earns from absolutely everything that you do overthere, even when you are calling Cuba. That is why Calling Cuba is extremely expensive compared to other countries. Remember the government in Cuba is the sole provider of everything, and nobody own anything. My uncle owned a Cow and somebody stoled it, he had to pay the cow to the government.
Well, those of us that can travel and live there see it differently. We'd rather be near our families, than be without them. And there are ways of getting around things, as you should know if you lived there once.
Actually, you are wrong. Right now the Cuban goverment takes 25% of all dollars enetering the Island. Even if you give it to your family, it has to be converted to a dollar equivalent and they take their cut. I'm not judging you; I send money to my family too. But be aware that the regimen takes a cut.
But how can they take it from me if I give it directly to them, in their hands? That's all I'm trying to say. That's why I hate sending money via duales or western union--I know they're going to take a piece of it....it's better to go there and give it to them.
It's been only around two years or so, the actual dollar is converted to the so-called "chavito" The dollar is no longer accepted in the government "shoppings". In the process, 20%-25% of the dollar's value is snatched. That is, for every hundred dollars they give you 80 chavitos while the prices are unchanged. It's ridiculous. Thievery in your face!
So true! And now they're doing away with the Convertible Peso, and only going to have 1 form of currency instead of 2....things change very fast there!
Can you tell me how we can go to Cuba? I want to take my grandchildren his grandfather was from Cuba they have family there I was there in 1954 and 1959 I like to go again.
Lamento ver este mensaje tuyo recien despues de 2 meses, pero vivo lejos y no puedo ayudarte- Supongo que se puede ir a Cuba comprando un pasaje en avión y ya está
I agree. I spent time in Cuba. Not as a tourist but on church mission work. It is truely amazing how many Cubans who grew up in a godless country have managed to find God. I went to the beach in this film. We felt embarassed about going since Cubans are not allowed on this beach except workers or if they are in company of foreigner. We agreed to go because the Cubans we were with wanted very much to go and swim. Fact: Cubans rarely get enough to eat. Usually meat only twice a month at most.
went to this same hotel , december o6/07 and i have just been again same hotel , december 07/08. the place has turned out really well, its been painted, we had really good time , i would recommend LAS BRISAS wich is just down the road....
I was there in february 07, in the Club Amigo bungalows. I don't if it was the discomfort of being close to the locals and witness their lack of hope or was it the bad services in the hotel, but that was a trip to forget. Good job on the video.
You people must be drunk! If you guys want to go to Guardalavaca go the Hotel Brisas. It's a 4 star rated hotel with all the facilities you need to have a wonderful holiday. This Club Amigo is a dump. Flies in the food inside the restaurants, poor customer care, poor facilities, etc. In some countries in Europe and also in the US this hotel would have been closed down a long time ago for health and safety reasons. This hotel is very good for yobs only.
You may be right, mxandinho1, but it's the memories that we have of this place....the people, the sun, the sand....and yes, especially the people! I agree, if you're looking for a great tourist vacation experience in the hotel, maybe somewhere a little more upscale is in order....but that can't negate all of the beautiful memories we've had here! Cheers!
I go to Jamaica often. The place I stay is the Samsara which is probably the equivilent of this place. It is all about the people and experience. If you can afford better and ass kissing, by all means. I generaly like real people and find they are better connected to better travel experiences.
Fly shit adds to the flavour. Bet you're one of the whingeing Canadians which also mobbed the HA. The staff at HA were absolutely wonderful. Guess you're one of those assholes that don't believe in tipping.Did you check out the AC rooms? Mine was exceptional and the maid was an angel as were the bar staff and waitresses. You stick with your 4* knobs and give me the 3* yobs any day.

I go to Jamaica often. The place I stay is the Samsara which is probably the equivilent of this place. It is all about the people and experience. If you can afford better and ass kissing, by all means. I generaly like real people and find they are better connected to better travel experiences.

what`s a yob?

It's the Hotel Atlantico for starters.

Créame, el bronx, Toronto, L.A., Bombay, y otros lugares son mucho, mucho peor que DONDEQUIERA en Cuba.

Very, very low. Cuba's one of the safest countries to visit!
