Oh, and yes it is a rocket roll 2...Even though it doesn't state it on the headstock the number 2 designates its last and final year of production 1982-1983. The rr550 has block inlays and the rr150 and a maple fretboard and single humbcker in the bridge and a bolt on neck. the rr550 is much more rare and desirable!
I own the same guitar. It's a 1983 Ibanez Rocket Roll RR550 x series made in japan. The 1982 models said rocket roll on them. Bucket heads model is slightly modified. He did away with the original Ibanez hardrocker trem and pickups in the neck and bridge. I have pics just send me a reply.
No, he is just using a Digitech Whammy 2 Pedal. It can harmonize like that and go up octaves. It's a pretty cool pedal.

Yeah its the Roland unit. Its set up to harmonise what buckethead is playing, just in really dissonant intervals. Im pretty sure he is stacking Minor seconds.

but sets it to play a harmony a half step up

Oh, and yes it is a rocket roll 2...Even though it doesn't state it on the headstock the number 2 designates its last and final year of production 1982-1983. The rr550 has block inlays and the rr150 and a maple fretboard and single humbcker in the bridge and a bolt on neck. the rr550 is much more rare and desirable!

I own the same guitar. It's a 1983 Ibanez Rocket Roll RR550 x series made in japan. The 1982 models said rocket roll on them. Bucket heads model is slightly modified. He did away with the original Ibanez hardrocker trem and pickups in the neck and bridge. I have pics just send me a reply.

No, he is just using a Digitech Whammy 2 Pedal. It can harmonize like that and go up octaves. It's a pretty cool pedal.
can ANYONE tell me what kind of guitar Buckethead is playing?! I've been looking around and asking on other videos, but the only response I get is an Ibanez Rocket Roll 2, which it is not... the Rocket Roll did not have a trem arm or that type of bridge.
Any help would be great! thanks.

hey, i have done my research on, well pretty much everything, i have the whammy 4 and it can do everything the whammy 2 can except change octaves using your feet. so i will look into that thanks, and the guitar is an ibanez x series. your welcome :) if you have any other questions just ask that "shrill noise" is the only thing i truly do not know about his gear.

ok, for his music from 2003-2008, he has been using the boss os-2. but other than that, his primary distortion and beutiful tone comes from his mesa triple rectifier

i think hes using a whammy, and a delay pedal and he set the delay so it repeats a bunch of times like half a milisecond after or sumtin, my best guess.

Yeah its the Roland unit. Its set up to harmonise what buckethead is playing, just in really dissonant intervals. Im pretty sure he is stacking Minor seconds.
