  • I love the song of Stage 3

  • @GETcloud Me too I must say, but my favorite song is the staage 6 one, in the indian "village". And I really like much all the musics in this game, aside from some bosses' themes who are too short, they're really neat and fast. Oh and the ending music is my 2nd favorite.

  • im going crazy playing that game in my Childhood.

  • SORRY MOM, I CAN'T HELP YOU, MY CHILDHOOD HAS TAKEN ME BY THE LEGS!

  • 0:53 Bull Centipede!

  • this is alot different than the genesis version which i have this is the snes version isnt it ?

  • @avengingknight yes, this is the snes version.

  • @KevinGraillot ok cool it's a hell of alot different than the genesis version levelwise and shit everything seems to be all mixed up plus the genesis version doesnt have near the levels nor the enemies

  • nice!!!!!!!!! :D i finished this game too with my sister ^^

  • red dead redemption wud remind me of this game lol!

  • This game was so much fun.

  • this game deserves an HD treatment. it introduced me to how badass mexicans are with shotguns.

  • It was better on the arcade.

  • Wow used to play this game like no tommorrow, I love the dialouge from the bosses that always stuck out in my head

  • love this game!! Thanks for the upload

  • You sir, are a freak at this game. Awesome video. Brings back so many fond memories.

  • man this video brings back memories lol. This game needs a remake.

  • Pfft, who needs Red Dead Redemption when you've got the Sunset Riders!

  • The smith brothers were always where I lost all lives and hope. Awesome dude.

  • (Simon Greedwell)It's time to pay.

(You)No. You need to pay for your Jenny Craig membership

  • Whoa you're awesome man. Nice speedrun :D

  • brill game. me and my cousin spent days at a time on this when we were little. really wish this could make itself onto the wii store thing so i can play i again. i doubt the ps3 would do it

  • I'm quite sure it will come on the Wii store one day, since they try to publish every game from SNES (and other consoles) with this store ^_^.

  • BRINGS BACK SO MANY OLD MEMORIES!!!!!

I remember mastering this game back in like 1997 when I was 5 years old

  • wow, i also played like this, but in easy mode, and only the 4 levels and the indian kill me so many times that i lose 2 retrys XD... i never beated richard rose :(

  • wow, amazing how easy you made beating the smith bros. look. They always used to give me problem when I played solo.

  • no LIVES!? HOLY FUCK!

  • Sitting here laughing at how easy you make it look. Me and my brother spent hours/days trying to get through these 4 levels. We NEVER beat the game.

  • love this game

  • I had this game for the sega genesis and i played it so much i could go through the entire game without dying

  • Bob is the best.

  • Wow I remember struggling trying to beat this game with my cousins when I was young and you made this look so easy lol

  • Epic Gameplay and quality, however, I am dissipointed you chose Bob over Cormando.

  • 7:40 ... two times jumping around like its the damn matrix haha

  • Thanks a lot you brough us great memories say 13 years ago?

  • "bury me with my money" god i love this game

  • greedwell always sounded as if he said marry me with my money lol

  • Hahaha, what a fag he is.

  • Holy crap, thats what me, my friends and my cousins all said XD

  • .... I wish I was man enough to ride a pink and green horse :[

  • I still have this game, I love it. Awesome run, dude.

  • Thanks a lot really :D. And I love this game too ^_^.

  • great game i love it

  • DUDE YOU ARE SO FREAKING GOOD

  • Sounds like they used a lot of synthesizers for the music. Pretty cool, I haven't played the one for sega in years.

  • "You got me!" *downgoing*

    XDDD

  • I too! this is old! with steven

  • greedwell's barrels would always smash me to death

  • A really cool one back then

Makes me remind the old times =)

    Nice vid

  • best game ever so far..

  • Did anyone beat the game with only one coin in arcades? I did it once playing as Cormano, back in 1998 or 1999. Never more. Sir Richard Rose is complicated. You must be waaay inspired to don's lose lives against him.

  • The first boss sounds like Bluto from the old Popeye cartoons

  • this was GUN for its time.

  • "me in heap big trouble" "Draw Pilgrim"

  • lol me and my friend luke whould make goofy noise's when we' whould go on the bull's

  • reminds me of tmnt with guns

  • so remember playing this on the sega channel wayyyyy back in the day, dont remember there being 4 chars to choose from tho.

  • Sega took 2 characters out.

    Sega version was really crappy...

  • Yeah I saw some Screenshots of the Sega version, and really the conversion quality isn't comparable, SNES one is much better. And even the SNES conversion isn't very complete or perfect, but really good enough to be very enjoyable ^^.

  • yeah, it really was a crappy version :S kinda broke my heart, wasn't exactly Konami's best moment with the Genesis.

Even not being able to handle such a big color palette, and with a worse sound chip than the SNES, they could've done a lot better :S

anyhoo, 'bout the video... wooow you really mastered the game, d00d! kudos, it was a really hard game, you must've put a lot of effort in it! :D

  • God this game was awesome. I was like 8 or something when I started playing this...I think it was actually my first game.

Everyone in my family had their own character.

My two brothers were Steve and Billy, My dad was Cormano, and I was Bob. Good times.

  • That's a very nice story to hear, and I see that you prefer Bob like me, I think that he's the most sympathic-minded of the four, jusdging by his expression ^^.

  • I liked him because A)he had a shotgun, and B) I was 8, the name bob was awesome to me.

Shallow reasons, but still damn good ones!

  • Yeah I can see, I kind of think like you too ;)

  • Cool

  • this is possibly the best arcade game ever, this is where i started video gaming, awesome video

  • Thanks for the comment, and I agree with you that this game is quite great and nice :)

  • Love this game

  • I too.

  • Me in heap big trouble.

  • one of the best arcade games EVER!

  • brings back memorys :)

  • nice :)

  • LOL i used to think he said "marry me with my money too"

  • the music on the first stage sounds like the Turtles in time level called "Bury my shell at wounded knee" (the train level). this game was awesome!

  • Is this a remix of the turtles in time level theme bury my shell at wounded knee.

  • yep

  • Great game, even though I still can't get past the 1st second of level 2. Nice job on the video 5/5.

  • I can't even survive 5 seconds on this game.

  • man, what a great game! "marry me with my money" lol too many good memories

  • I'm pretty sure he's supposed to be saying "bury me with my money"

  • o my gosh same here great great memories this game i finished it so many times and remember the boss of the first lvl he says "marry me with my money" when he dies LOL me and my cuzins always laff at that he's acctually saying "

  • It's "bury me..."

And yes, cool memories from this game, I used to play it with my brother, bob and cormano heh

  • I have this game for my Genesis Sega. But here looks better.

  • Yeah, this is one of the games that actually looked way better on the SNES than on the Genesis.

  • u know on the firts part u can a get anothe gun

  • This game took so much of my money when I was like 9, anyone know where I can play it now?

  • With an SNES Emulator, and the ROM.. its too easy find them

  • Shotguns are for amateurs! Just kidding lol. But seriously, you should try beating the game with one of the six shooters (Steve and Bill). It's more challenging and you have to be more precise.

  • It took me forever to master this game, but when I did everyone I knew was blown away.....

  • Bob's horse has green hair. o_O

  • bury me with my money. :D

  • Yeah it makes everyone laugh ^^

  • good remenbers

  • Man I used to love this game!!!

    "saudade"...

  • it´s good! very good! good, good!

  • I remember beating this game on Easy on 1 continue. I felt so proud of myself because up until Richard Rose, I had died only twice thru my own stupidity (I slid underneath a boulder and then walked off a cliff...DOH!) and Wigwam only got me once. Killed Rose on my last life too! It was so intense! Great game!

    "Bury me with my money."

    Fuck you! I'm taking it!

  • Damn amazing i'll tell you that! Definatly my favorite SNES shooter. So much fun with 2 players. Even though we can barely betat the game on EASY mode back in the ole' days (4 years ago). Reminds me of a SNES version of Metal Slug with a Western theme. Dude, you are the shiznit.

    5 stars :D

  • There was a trick that I use on the Smith Bros. When you take out the green one ( bomb thrower, recommended you put him out first.), hang from the chandelier and fire diagonally up at the blue brother. You will not get hit at all! I also see that the bomb explosions don't reach you on top of the chandelier. I've learned something too! Nice run on hard mode! Props!

  • THE SNES version was WAY better than the Sega one. Never got to play the SNES one.

Cormano was so bad ass!!! Had the poncho, the sombrero, but the best part: the shotgun!!!

PS: I like how you kill the guy at 6:00

  • Yeah I quite of agree with you - I saw a bit of a TAS of the SEGA version and the graphics as well as some animations (like the cows in lvl 1) are well under the SNES conversion :D - And yes, I love this game! (Sunset Riders SNES)

  • I haven't played this game in ages!

  • true. :)

  • I miss playing this game, the SNES was the best as it closely resembles the arcade version. I hope Konami would bundle this game in a future Konami Arcade Classics for all systems.

  • this was an awesome game

  • Also, I used to play with Commando. He was the best one for me.

  • I like Bob better bc of his red hat on the back, his green color and his slightly wider range^^ - Cormano is a Mexican with his big red hat and his pink poncho, and I understand why many people like him -

  • OMG, I never knew there was an SNES version, I have to get it. I used to play this on the Arcade all the time, and yes, I can go through the first three stages with only one quarter.

  • Yeah this was a cool game but its hard mode isn't very hard compared to contra III.

  • I used to play this all the time. And when I was younger if i ever saw someone do this. Id probably shit my pants

You my friend are a Sunset Riders god

  • Thanks a lot friend, I love this game me too, and I'm so happy to have so many compliments in rewarding :D

  • Only one little thing dude... he picked up a chicken! That´s why he didn´t die in that part!

  • At like 37 seconds in you walk straight through a bullet???

  • Of course since I just had picked a bonus and all of them gives you temporary invincibility when you pick them up -

  • Did you use any cheat codes or just did it by luck? Only Curious?

  • no lol no cheats, I just put a lot of time re-doing every level & boss to notice everything that I had to be careful with, and it worked :P -

  • Omg man!

    Yu rock!! Congrats =D

You can teach me some moves anh? XDD

  • nice! woulda liked it better if it was with Cormano lol but great stuff! thanks for sharin!

  • Your play is absolutely heroic.

This is one of the greatest games of all time.... and you are one of the greatest players.

Thankyou for making this video, it was a trip.

  • Wow thanks for a so grateful comment :P

  • I second his comment, damn it was great.
