@veggievamp1 I think you're missing the point. The intent IS that this will (eventually) be used to help human amputees. Oscar here is an animal test subject for future human procedures. The fees and such were likely waived or greatly reduced in the name of science. I had heard of this procedure years ago, but it was all largely theoretical, and need a LOT of testing before it was ready for human use. This is some of that testing. That this cat gets a new pair of legs is a fringe benefit
