  • 29 years and waiting

  • "NEWLY diagnosed diabetics..."

What about us who've been dealing for 10+ years?

  • Would this work with Type 2 diabetics? Admittedly, insulin resistance is the biggest contributor to Type 2, but improving beta cell function should help reduce hyperglycemia, right?

  • An insulin pump is Not implanted. There is an infusion set in which a cannula delivers insulin through tubing connected to the insulin pump cartridge filled with insulin. Three day max is recommended for the infusion set site. Not implanted.

And this research is fantastic. But someone with Type 1 for 25 years.....not a likely "candidate."

As research continues, maybe one day.

  • Ive had Type 1 now for 23 years- & my body is wearing out Im tired of being sick & tired

  • Search ClinicalTrials*gov for stem cells, diabetes

Dr. Burt is currently recruiting - as are many other studies (skip the stem cells part for more). Their contact information is available on the page for that specific study. You can also usually find an email contact through the college/hospital at which they are affiliated. Dr. Burt is at Northwestern Memorial Hospital in Chicago.)

Canadan study indicates "capsaicin injections cure Type 1 diabetes in mice". (search quoted)

    Good luck.
