  • It's always interesting to see what he looked like when he was younger...

  • "He did some great shouts and things..."

    I love this man. XD

  • I don't understand why all the emphasis on sexuality in comments. This is a brilliant clip and shows off Gielgud's gorgeous vocal technique. I think that's why they cut the speech in the 1995 film, though Nigel Hawthorne is certainly an impressive actor. Thank you for the clip.

  • It is not so much the world's opinion or even yours or mine that is most significant concerning Brando 's acting skills. Brando's reputation of greatness as an actor is certain because of the testimony of other great actors.

  • one dimeonsinal i 'm not sure about that. You can see the different styles later on. The early works maybe one dimensional. I do see ur point though. Brando said 3 crucual things for an actor's success:Good acting, good presence and good physique. He had all that. Plus hes one of the 1st "real" method actors to come out. So it's not just the acting it's the era and kinda original, plusthe chick dig him.

  • One dimensional?? Gielgud was a great actor but could you imagine him playing Stanley Kowalski or Don Corleone? Brando did it all. To say that he was the worst actor ever shows that you are either ignorant or stupid. Besides, as someone pointed out, it is only the opinion of his peers that really matter. The rest is just noise.

  • @baron675 Brando is the most profoundly overrated actor in the history of the English speaking theater. God save us from "The Method".

  • @elsa8001 you unspeakable moron.

  • "Brando Unzipped" is the most inaccurate account of Brando that could ever be written. Darwin Porter knew nothing of Brando and wrote a book full of lies and made up "Facts". So you obviously know nothing of Brando....Get your facts right AdArmand.

  • Who cares who was gay or straight? Both Gielgud and Brando were fine actors, perhaps each the finest of their type. The rest is pointless.

  • AMEN.

  • Would you mind telling me who writes this crap, yes Gielgud was gay but there is no proof that Brando was. If he was, he sure covered it well fathering approx 10 kids.

Gielgud was in a longterm relationship from the 1950s until the death of his partner in the 1990s. Its totally unjust to make claims regarding two great actors when neither are here to defend themselves

With regads to this clip I love it.

    Thanks

  • I agree that Brando wasn't gay, but Brando, himself, admitted to having homosexual eperiences in his lifetime. It should also be pointed out that just because Brando may have had sex with another man doesn't mean that he was gay. There is such a thing as bisexual.

  • According to "Brando Unzipped", Marlon 'gave services' to Gielgud as a thank you for his assistance on this movie.

  • @AdArmand I would never trust a book or a film with the title "Brando Unzipped". :))
