hey daan it was great!! i was planning to get an american deluxe as the one you have but i was thinking that the s1 switch would be too difficult to use, i just took a look at fender site buy i don't really understand the funtion of the s1, also the samarium cobalt pickups still retain that strat "quack" necessarily for rhcp/jimi purposes?? or it sounds a little diferent? sorry for the long comment nice guitar day!!

It is not difficult to use at all! On every position of the 5-way switch, you can engage the S1 switch to get 1 additional sound. So essentially you have twice the sounds.

I'm really happy with the SCN pickups. They seem to have more of a modern sound.

Dat is zeker een goede gitaar. Het is bijna dezelfde gitaar, behalve dat de hals een wat andere vorm heeft. Waarschijnlijk klinkt die hetzelfde.

Awesome, and very nice sound. You should cover Can't Stop also :) Are you able to share some patch settings? Im pretty new to the boss gt-8, had it for 6 months or so. I hope that I will be able to wire the gt8 up to my Mac and record some covers and maybe own songs aswell soon :) anyways 5 stars.

Dat van jou kan ook wel, ik heb alleen mijn twijfels over die A op het eind. Van Dani California zijn weinig goede tabs, dus ik heb het gedaan door te luisteren, en dit vond ik goed klinken.

Ik heb inderdaad een Epiphone Les Paul Standard Plus Top. Volgens mij is de Les Paul Custom niet echt beter, maar is ie wat luxer. Dubbele binding rond de body en langs de kop, gouden onderdelen etc.

Er is wel een redelijk verschil in de prijs. 500 voor de Standard en 700 voor de Custom of zo. Dat verschil is het voor mij niet echt waard... Het beste kun je de gitaren altijd nog gewoon uitproberen bij een winkel.

Ooh oke, maar ze zijn wel aanzienlijk duurder dan een Standard. Die kost 400 zie ik op de site. Ik kan je niet precies vertellen wat de custom 150 euro duurder maakt. Ik vind de Epiphones geen echte topgitaren om eerlijk te zijn. Naar mijn mening zijn ze meer "semi-pro". Maar zeker wel een heel stuk beter dan een Epi Les Paul Special of LP-100, wat voor de serieuze gitarist gewoon rotzooi is.

what kind of effect did you use for this?

For the clean sound: clean channel of the Peavey Valveking, and a little bit of reverb from the amp.

For the overdriven rhythm sound: lead channel of the Peavey Valveking, with little bit of reverb from the amp.

For the lead sound: lead channel of the Peavey Valveking with a little bit of reverb from the amp, the tubescreamer from the GT-8, and a delay from the GT-8.

I use the crybaby wah from the GT-8.

Yes, 4-cable method. It makes you able to put your GT-8 effects either before or after the amp's preamp.

Oh wait, I'm using a wah in some parts of the verses (with the hammer-ons).

But you can just use a basic clean sound with the neck pickup of your guitar. It should sound allright.

Are those Lace sensors pickups there?

No, these are the SCN pickups that come stock with the USA Deluxe Strats. SCN means Samarium Cobalt Noiseless. They did a really good job, because there's almost no noise. Definately not like "regular" single coils.

Ja vast wel, ik denk niet meer in elke gitaarwinkel, maar er zijn vast nog wel winkels die er nog een paar hebben staan. Maar kijk eens op marktplaats of ebay, staan er ook zat 2ehands op.

Die GT-8 kost bijna niks meer nu de GT-10 er is.

Hey, thanks for your comments. The guitar is a Fender American Deluxe Stratocaster and the color is called "Olympic Pearl" (it's basically Olympic White with a red pearloid pickguard).
