  • This joint was a WHUR staple back in the day!

  • Most def hot- especially the beautiful woman.

  • Favourite tune ever...love it

  • superb

  • CLASSIC ABSOLUTE GENIOUS

  • I was there livin' the SoCali life at the annual Playboy Jazz Festival! The next day I ran out got the album (CDs were just building momentum of popularity). Although there is nothing like a live performance and this one was good, but I give the nod to the studio controlled version as an all time smooth jazz favorite.

  • These guys were truly awesome musicians as a trio!,...Until Smooth Jazz got in the way!,...Great Post!

  • This takes me so far back, I tripped !!!!!!!!!!

  • Awesome track, end of story!

  • this song gives me goose bumps! posted on my atmospheric soul playlist

    5*

  • I was (& still am) fascinated when I listened (listen) to this tune on the 80's Radio Luxembourg "Groove" Import Charts with Tony Prince. You really can feel the summer & heat. Pieces Of a Dream & Grover Washington Jr. (it's a pity he's gone, R.I.P.) with the voice of Barbara Walker (simular to Randy Crawford) put so much soul into this song, that it's a perfect combination. I really miss this time, the 80's got so much great soul tracks, it was the best.

  • quaility tune

  • Still to this day my favorite jazz ensamble. Miss Grover with them though

  • POD these guys are still teenagers here in 1980!! tatanted!!

  • Love to see old clips of the original trio. Cedric on Bass is great to see.

  • Wonderfully evocative song. I saw them in London in the 80s along with Bill Withers, it was a really good show. I wouldn't consider this 'smooth jazz', which I always think of as dull and bland and all too pervasive today. This certainly wasn't that. Thanks very much for posting.

  • Classic Loft early less than obvious one...

  • James loyd is a bad boy on keys love his flavor of musical creativity

  • Pieces of a Dream is an R&B/jazz fusion group from Philadelphia. The group was formed in 1976 by bassist Cedric Napoleon, drummer Curtis Harmon, and keyboardist James Lloyd. At the time, the three were all teenagers. The group based their name on Pieces of Dreams, a song by Stanley Turrentine that the group performed.

  • The best thing about posting these videos is learning some of the history behind the groups that I've been enjoying for years. Thank you.

  • I just cut & paste from mainly Wikipedia,

while to the songs are playing and pass it on

grover washington had something to with them also

  • I like this sound, summers tune the vocals just beautiful, they dont do it like this now a days when music was music lets go back too the 80s love the Guitar keyboards and drums lol

  • Yep this is one of my favourite songs. I "discovered" the band on my first trip to the usa in 1981 when they released their first album produced by Grover Washington Jr. I must do this one on a gig sometime.

  • this is one of my all time favorite songs

love it at anytime of day or night, rain or shine
