When we first moved to America from Australia, my mum called in to donate money...and the lady heard my mum had an accent and asked where she was from. My mum said "Australia" and then the lady asked how long we had been in the states, and my mum told her "about a month." Then the lady said "Oh my, your English is perfect!"

I always hated it when they did this; especially when it results in my favorite shows getting delayed or outright canceled to make room for the pledge drive. Quite annoying when I didn't get to watch Where on Earth is Carmen SanDiego for an entire week because of this.
