@qwertyism8 no because you need light waves that go only in one direction (thats what a laser does) otherwise you will get a blurry image (at best) because light comes from all directions. or you will need to have a very pointy light like a tiny hi-power LED where all the light comes from a single tiny point that should work better because if you get a white bulb you solve the monochome color problem but you can only use one tiny led and no reflectors so its not going to be very bright
dude thats cool, but i wonder if you could find a white lazer. i dont know if they even make that.... maybe you could get a red, green and a blue and mix the streams!
A quick and dirty example is to get your ipod, phone, mp3 player. anything with a back lit screen and set the screen to its brightest setting. Then take a magnifying glass and put it in front of the device while its aimed at the wall. Make sure the room is pitch black. Then just move the magnifying glass back and forth till its focused and then you will have a picture. Again this is a quick and dirty example.
hey man, take a look in my idea.. you can use a lenses block and a white hi power Led to make a good video projector... i do it and works so good.....
all you need now is a blue and a green laser. you can get a blue laser out a used blue ray player and a green laser off ebay. Then point all three and you should get close to white lite. then shine shine it on a wall.
@ParkourReble 5w is not enough light. The lcd panel will only transfer about 20% of the light from the source, and those 5w led's only output like 50 lumens. Think about a commercial projector, they output about 1000-2000 lumens. That means that you would need a light source with about 4000-5000 lumens to get good results. I suppose even 500 lumens would be managable. I suggest using a 50w white LED (they have them on ebay) or even a 30w. They would output much more light.
that really is some cool stuff, that guy under me is right, why is it i see all other arabs around me doing cool stuff, and im sitting here with a few parts here and there but havent done anything with them
That's the idea. I'll blend 3 lasers (red, green and blue) and with that higher powered white laser project an image with a small low power (comparatively) device. Thanks for the encouragement!
@lamedust That's a cool little trick but wouldn't it just be easier to put an intense white light behind it? I mean, the color is all in the screen. The back-light is just so you can see the image. granted, you would have to keep it cool otherwise it would just melt the screen lol :P
Why no use powerful flash light? = awesome projector

This is only a crude monochrome laser shining through an LCD. Not too practical but interesting.

@JTwoTheIzzo Lasers are not like white light. With normal white light he'd need a lens like a magnifying glass to focus the image on the wall.
