Nothing against German cars here, but I purchased a new Ceed 1.4, 5 stars Euro NCAP, ABS, BAS, ESP, traction control, hill hold control, climatised glove compartment, electric mirrors and windows, computer, airco, usb aux cd/radio etc. bluetooth + audiocontrol from the steering wheel etc. etc. etc. Yes even seat heating!
For 12k.
Now find me a new Golf offered with all this for 12.000 EUR and THEN we can start comparing.
What is wrong here? Ofcourse a the Golf wins in a German test, I have also tried a Golf and can only tell, that Hyundai is much better to drive in. More space and more confortable.
I've had two golfs and i've just traded in my 2005 VW Passat for a kia procee'd 4.....But only after i was told a set of new injectors and heater plugs were going to be £2150 fitted! Will never own a VW again! Long live thoes korean little barstards!

Hyundai soll bei der Fahrsicherheit negativ sein? Häh kann ich nicht verstehen ich bin positiv überascht worden. In diesem Preissegment ist er vorreiter in sachen Sicherheit. Von VW geschönter Vergleich. Preis Hyundai 1.6 Classic Blue: 16.690 € inkl. Klima, 6 Airbags, USB/Ipod Anschluss, Mp3 Radio und Start-Stopp Automatik. VW Golf 6 1.4 TSI: 22.725 € inkl. 4 Türen, Seitenairbags hinten, RCD310, USB Anschluss. Das macht fast 6.000 € unterschied. Das waren mal fast 12.000 DM.
Ich hatte einen vw polo und ein opel calibra. Hatte nur ärger damit!!!!!!!!!
Habe jetzt meinen 5ten hyundai. Hyundai Getz- hyundai coupe 1.6 - hyundai coupe 2.7v.6- hyundai i30 - und der hyundai azera (grandeur) hatte nie ärger mit hyundai, und viel billiger als vw ond co.
Was zum Teufel?! Harte Sitze sind auf langer Reise konfortabel? Der ist wohl noch nie mehr als 50km am Stück gefahren... Vollidioten-Video.
Eigentlich hab ich ja nur infos zum Hyundai i30 gesucht, aber hier hab ich mal wieder ein Beispiel deutscher Selbstbeweihräucherung gefunden.
Was mich auf der Probefahrt mit dem i30 gestört hat, war die Kopfstütze, welche leider nicht neigbar ist und zu weit nach vorne neigt und die hohen Drehzahlen (war ein 1.6 Modell, allerdings noch der 5gänger)
Hallo zusammen, also ich fahre jetzt gute zwei Jahre den Hyundai I30, der Wagen hat mich Total überzeugt durch die leichte Lenkung die guten bremsen, und der Preis und auch die Verarbeitung find ich nicht gerade Billig ganz im Gegenteil man hat mit diesem Fahrzeug echt seine Fahr Freude das Auto macht mir immer wieder neue Freude.
ach ja nochwas!was soll den das für ein Test sein??sollen die beiden Schwaben etwa den deutschen Durchschnittsverbraucher representieren?Also die Schwaben die ich kenne rechnen da nochmal nach da würde der Golf wohl durchfallen..
Freunde Freunde!Ich hab den i30 nun seit über einem Jahr,deutsches Model edition plus 9990 Euro....in der Grundausstattung bereits super bin damit sehr zufrieden!!!Da kann ich mir zwei i30 zum Preis eines Golf kaufen bei besseren Garantieleistungen,für mich der wahre Volkswagen!klar der Golf ist ein gutes Auto wird aber in der restlichen EU deutlich billiger angeboten als Hierzulande,da hab ich echt keinen Bock drauf sowas mitzufinanzieren!!
ich finds pervers da...Der Cee'd isn Top Auto, selber in der Familie, ich hab ihn oft gefahren, er fährt sich super und sieht erste Sahne aus. Der i30 steht dem Ceed in nix nach, auch oft mitgefahren, er wird mein nächstes Auto. Dazu sieht der Golf lahm um nich zu sagen - beschissen aus. VW is ja so toll...lächerlich!

Der "Koreaner" von Hyundai ist eigentlich eher ein Europäer. Das Auto wurde in Rüsselsheim bei Frankfurt entwickelt und wird in der EU gebaut. Trotzdem ist das Preisleistungsverhältnis bei Hyundai viel besser. Volkswagen ist viel zu teuer und die Qualität ist mit Sicherheit auch nicht mehr so gut wie früher.
@GullinborstiHoch100 leider wird alles was aus wolfsburg kommt vergöttert und der rest verteufelt ;) und dabei gibt es genug hersteller, die mittlerweile genauso gut sind oder sogar besser, z.b ford....aber kann man nichts dran machen.... und genau dieser test ist wahrscheinlich nur wieder von vw, um sich selbst auf die schulter klopfen zu können! hyundai und kia haben sich gut verbessert, und mit dem facelift am kia cee´d hat sich auch die verarbeitung enorm verbessert! :)

WOW.....a german test picks the Golf......big surprise. Funniest part was where the guy actually tried to tell us that he was most comfortable in the back seat of the Golf.....eventhough his knees were actually touching the front seat.......both Koreans offered MUCH more space....biased much??
I've driven both. The Kia is cheaper, but there is very poor noise cancelation (very loud on Autobahn), the engine (115 bhp) feels like 60 bhp, the plastics are cheap and noisy, the stearing sucks, the seats are very unconfortable, the sound speakers are a lot worse than in the Golf etc.!
The Golf is so much nicer to drive. Koreans can produce cheap, but their not known for engeneering. The Golf is the best value you can get for money. Go sit in both of them, and I swear you'll agree with me.

my Grandpa has a Kia ceed 1.6 (115 bhp), and I drove last week over 200 km with. And I even asked him if he's happy with this car, and he said it's the same as his old Honda Civic from 2001. And I actually think, that the civic was even a bit better(I drove both a lot). Perhaps Korean cars are very durable, but they're not made for people who love and enjoy driving.
@Teeebs he didnt say, that Golf was the most comfortable regarding rearseats, he said it was hard and tough, but on the other hand nice for long trips. Nonetheless all tests from Auto Bild, Auto Motor & Sport and other german companies are always biased and choose VW or Audi as a winner.

korean cars are very good value for the price you pay..thats a fact and they are getting better with every generation. they are already giving longer warranties than european car makers.

But the ceed having the possibility to try it for several days i was kinda astonaushed of what it is giving for it price especially with a 7 years warranty ....., being the fort biggest car maker is quite relevant, it means that they have a good quality product for the money and they are selling them and getting profit

Ja sicher ist das alles Blödsinn. Ausserdem haben die auch noch den TSI-Motor von dem Golf benutzt, sodass die anderen beiden erst recht nur abscheissen konnten bei 0-100km/h.

BS. Kia 1.6 crdi (115 PS) has shitty 0-100 acceleration, something like 12-13 seconds. They doesn't compare diesel engines though. Also no car comparison in german tv could show VW as a looser. Having 20k Euro I'd rather get nicely equipped Fiat grande punto though..

I have a Hyundai I30, and I can tell you it's very, very quiet on the highway. Even at 75Mph/120Kph you hear little of the engine, and with music the engine just fades away. Car magazines often finding figures of <35 dB. On the other hand, in bad asphalt (just like every other road where I live) it's as noisy as any other car.
I once drived the hyundai sonata of my teacher (car is around 15 years old) and it is pretty quiet inside, quieter than the 2008 mercedes e-class. Thats no joke, a 15 year old hyundai is quieter than a totally overpriced mercedes...and 35db on idle sounds pretty nice too.
why did they use the tiny 1.6L on the Ceed and I30 vs the turbo Diesel? they should have compared it with the 2.0L betta II from hyundai and kia those engines would have smoked that VW.
Seltsam, dass auto,motor sport die bisher einzige Plattform ist, die negative Merkmale speziell des i30 aufzeigt. Alle(!) anderen machen andere Aussagen, was Antrieb, Sitzkomfort etc angeht. Lächerlich scheint auch, einen Turbo aufgeladenen Motor mit zwei nicht aufgeladenen Motoren zu vergleichen. Insgesamt wenig objektiv, aber die sind ja auf die Werbegelder von VW,Audi etc angewiesen...
I drowe various german cars for 18 years (including VW polo), and I can tell you that my current Toyota Yaris bits them all. One thing is certain: Germans will always prefer their cars, French - theirs, Italians - theirs...

I am a car mechanic and worked for Volkswagen and Audi for 3,5 years in Germany. Golf is the worst car ever. It has so many problems that is unbelieveble. We had to change many engines. I'd prefer Hyundai i30 or Kia Cee'd

Meine Meinung ist folgende: "solange es über eine deutsche Auto-Show die rede ist, ist doch klar dass, immer die deutschen Autos besser gesehen werden als die konkurenz". Eine andere Sache wäre dass, die Deutschen, alles anderes als ihre selbst gebauten Sachen schlechter finden und nicht kaufen wollen. Meiner Meinung nach ist der KIA besser als der GOLF, wegen der Garantie (7 Jahre) und wegen den Preis (Mit erwiterten Optionen kommt der KIA bei einen Preis der erst der Anfang eines GOLF ist).

Also, da hat VW mal wieder kräftig Werbung bei dem Fernsehsender geschaltet und auf Anhieb den Test gewonnen. Ich fahre seit 3 Monaten einen Ceed und der ist echt Klasse. Verwunderlich auch, daß nicht mal die um Welten bessere Garantie erwähnt wurde. Ich kann euch nur empfehlen: Fahrt den Ceed selbst und bildet euch eure Meinung. Und gebt nix auf das Geschwätz von den zwei schwäbischen Maultaschen hier in diesem Testbericht!

Der Kia ist der beste in diesen kleine classe, gibt es 7 yahre garantee und die konkurenten must zurückbleiben von Kia, kan die garnicht machen der Kia ist umfassbar. Der Kia ist wirklich unglaublich gut und der Preis ist wunderbar wenig. Ich muss eine kaufen:)

mein Sohn fährt einen Golf V, 1.9 TDI mit 105 PS und ich fahre einen Kia Ceed 1.5 CRdi 115 PS. Der Golf ist innnen schöner - das ist aber auch alles! Kia verbaut einen Commonrail-Diesel mit 2 oben liegenden Nockenwellen. Der Motor ist leise und läuft gut. Ganz anders der Golf-Motor: Pumpe-Düse, anfällig, rauh und laut. Beschleunigung: exakt gleich. Top-Speed (gemessen mit NAVI): Kia 204 km/h, Golf 196 km/h. Garantiezeit? Preis? CO2-Ausstoß? Definitiv vorne: der Kia! Aber: Geschmackssache!
you get the excuse when you have 200k km (if) on your Kia and the door lock keeps falling from the car....and half of the cheap plastic blowers are broken.
@snip84:bwir brauchen nicht Englsch zu schreiben! :) Ich fahre meinen Kia jetzt drei Jahre und habe ca. 64000 km dauf. Die Ablage für die Sonnenbrille (wo am Fahrzeughimmel auch die Schalter für die Innenbeleuchtung angebracht sind) ist kaputt gegangen.
Mein zweites Auto ist ein VW Lupo GTI ist und da ist die Anmutung der Innenausstattung schon wesentlicher besser.
Was man auch nicht vergessen darf: der Wiederverkaufswert eines VW ist ungleich höher als der eines Kia :)
Would I get a golf over the other two? No. I personally find the golf seriously ugly. The i30 looks great, the ceed is well equipped.
Over all of them, I'd get a Pro_Ceed, and I did just that.

Von VW geschönter Vergleich. Preis Hyundai 1.6 Classic Blue: 16.690 € inkl. Klima, 6 Airbags, USB/Ipod Anschluss, Mp3 Radio und Start-Stopp Automatik. VW Golf 6 1.4 TSI: 22.725 € inkl. 4 Türen, Seitenairbags hinten, RCD310, USB Anschluss. Das macht fast 6.000 € unterschied. Das waren mal fast 12.000 DM.

Also die 8,4 schafft man nur bei übertriebenen Drehzalen, oder auf der Autobahn.

Eigentlich hab ich ja nur infos zum Hyundai i30 gesucht, aber hier hab ich mal wieder ein Beispiel deutscher Selbstbeweihräucherung gefunden.
Was mich auf der Probefahrt mit dem i30 gestört hat, war die Kopfstütze, welche leider nicht neigbar ist und zu weit nach vorne neigt und die hohen Drehzahlen (war ein 1.6 Modell, allerdings noch der 5gänger)

Hallo zusammen, also ich fahre jetzt gute zwei Jahre den Hyundai I30, der Wagen hat mich Total überzeugt durch die leichte Lenkung die guten bremsen, und der Preis und auch die Verarbeitung find ich nicht gerade Billig ganz im Gegenteil man hat mit diesem Fahrzeug echt seine Fahr Freude das Auto macht mir immer wieder neue Freude.

Freunde Freunde!Ich hab den i30 nun seit über einem Jahr,deutsches Model edition plus 9990 Euro....in der Grundausstattung bereits super bin damit sehr zufrieden!!!Da kann ich mir zwei i30 zum Preis eines Golf kaufen bei besseren Garantieleistungen,für mich der wahre Volkswagen!klar der Golf ist ein gutes Auto wird aber in der restlichen EU deutlich billiger angeboten als Hierzulande,da hab ich echt keinen Bock drauf sowas mitzufinanzieren!!

ich finds pervers da...Der Cee'd isn Top Auto, selber in der Familie, ich hab ihn oft gefahren, er fährt sich super und sieht erste Sahne aus. Der i30 steht dem Ceed in nix nach, auch oft mitgefahren, er wird mein nächstes Auto. Dazu sieht der Golf lahm um nich zu sagen - beschissen aus. VW is ja so toll...lächerlich!

Der "Koreaner" von Hyundai ist eigentlich eher ein Europäer. Das Auto wurde in Rüsselsheim bei Frankfurt entwickelt und wird in der EU gebaut. Trotzdem ist das Preisleistungsverhältnis bei Hyundai viel besser. Volkswagen ist viel zu teuer und die Qualität ist mit Sicherheit auch nicht mehr so gut wie früher.

@GullinborstiHoch100 leider wird alles was aus wolfsburg kommt vergöttert und der rest verteufelt ;) und dabei gibt es genug hersteller, die mittlerweile genauso gut sind oder sogar besser, z.b ford....aber kann man nichts dran machen.... und genau dieser test ist wahrscheinlich nur wieder von vw, um sich selbst auf die schulter klopfen zu können! hyundai und kia haben sich gut verbessert, und mit dem facelift am kia cee´d hat sich auch die verarbeitung enorm verbessert! :)

I've driven both. The Kia is cheaper, but there is very poor noise cancelation (very loud on Autobahn), the engine (115 bhp) feels like 60 bhp, the plastics are cheap and noisy, the stearing sucks, the seats are very unconfortable, the sound speakers are a lot worse than in the Golf etc.!
The Golf is so much nicer to drive. Koreans can produce cheap, but their not known for engeneering. The Golf is the best value you can get for money. Go sit in both of them, and I swear you'll agree with me.

my Grandpa has a Kia ceed 1.6 (115 bhp), and I drove last week over 200 km with. And I even asked him if he's happy with this car, and he said it's the same as his old Honda Civic from 2001. And I actually think, that the civic was even a bit better(I drove both a lot). Perhaps Korean cars are very durable, but they're not made for people who love and enjoy driving.

1) Ceed wird vom Teilen der i30er gebaut. Kia gehört zu Hyudai.
2) i30 1.4 hat 109 ps bei 7 LITER VERBRAUCH in der Stadt(als neuwagen gekauft, 4000 kilometer schon gefahren) und ist verdammt schnell. Macht kurzen Prozess mit A4.

BS. Kia 1.6 crdi (115 PS) has shitty 0-100 acceleration, something like 12-13 seconds. They doesn't compare diesel engines though. Also no car comparison in german tv could show VW as a looser. Having 20k Euro I'd rather get nicely equipped Fiat grande punto though..

I have a Hyundai I30, and I can tell you it's very, very quiet on the highway. Even at 75Mph/120Kph you hear little of the engine, and with music the engine just fades away. Car magazines often finding figures of <35 dB. On the other hand, in bad asphalt (just like every other road where I live) it's as noisy as any other car.

I once drived the hyundai sonata of my teacher (car is around 15 years old) and it is pretty quiet inside, quieter than the 2008 mercedes e-class. Thats no joke, a 15 year old hyundai is quieter than a totally overpriced mercedes...and 35db on idle sounds pretty nice too.

Seltsam, dass auto,motor sport die bisher einzige Plattform ist, die negative Merkmale speziell des i30 aufzeigt. Alle(!) anderen machen andere Aussagen, was Antrieb, Sitzkomfort etc angeht. Lächerlich scheint auch, einen Turbo aufgeladenen Motor mit zwei nicht aufgeladenen Motoren zu vergleichen. I drowe various german cars for 18 years (including VW polo), and I can tell you that my current Toyota Yaris bits them all. One thing is certain: Germans will always prefer their cars, French - theirs, Italians - theirs...

not at all, I'm italian and won't buy any italian car anymore: presently they are just nice car, very exepnsive and not reliable like germas or japanese are. ciao

Cee'd is a nice surprise from Kia. I wasn't expecting such a good car. It is safe (NCAP 5 stars), similar to Golf but significantly.
However, let's wait if they are so good after they are 10 years old.
If you want a high-quality car, get Golf.
However Kia C'eed may be just as good, but it's not 100% sure.

I am a car mechanic and worked for Volkswagen and Audi for 3,5 years in Germany. Golf is the worst car ever. It has so many problems that is unbelieveble. We had to change many engines. I'd prefer Hyundai i30 or Kia Cee'd

Well Golf 1,2 and 3 were all good but the rest isn't good anymore esspecially Golf 4! Well I do not know much about Citroen and Peugeot. Some say that Renault should be good

I've learned that Korean Cars don't have good quality. I don't think Hyundai i30 or Kia Cee'd would be a wise choice. I'd rather buy a Japanese car. Honda Civic or Toyota Auris.

ich habe auch ein i30 und meiner meinung nach ist der besser als die anderen zwei außerdem die deutschen autos werden heut zu tage nicht mehr in deutschland gebaut sonder die autos werden aus verschiedenen länder in einzelteile gelifert .....

,aber ich fahre (ich habe)ein I30, und ich habe viele Optionen,leder,klima,usb,usw... ich habe sie gekafut fur 16.000euro DDP(ich wohne in rumanien)..ich bitte um entschuldigung aber mein deutsch ist schlecht..

Meine Meinung ist folgende: "solange es über eine deutsche Auto-Show die rede ist, ist doch klar dass, immer die deutschen Autos besser gesehen werden als die konkurenz". Eine andere Sache wäre dass, die Deutschen, alles anderes als ihre selbst gebauten Sachen schlechter finden und nicht kaufen wollen. Meiner Meinung nach ist der KIA besser als der GOLF, wegen der Garantie (7 Jahre) und wegen den Preis (Mit erwiterten Optionen kommt der KIA bei einen Preis der erst der Anfang eines GOLF ist).

Ja und diese Deutsche! Golf Werbung ist wirklich miserabel und witzig. Daneben mag Ich der Golf es ist ein sehr gutes auto jezt schon!(eben der V. weil Ich habe IV. und gibt es viele probleme damit)Müssen immer der Golf das beste sein mensch?!?! Warum seid Ihr nicht real. Sollen diese Deutsche Obrigkeit dinge hinlegen und Ich möchte nicht ausfallig sein meine Ziel ist nur diese Sendung!!!!!! (Ich mag Euch und es ist nur für Euch!)

Also, da hat VW mal wieder kräftig Werbung bei dem Fernsehsender geschaltet und auf Anhieb den Test gewonnen. Ich fahre seit 3 Monaten einen Ceed und der ist echt Klasse. Verwunderlich auch, daß nicht mal die um Welten bessere Garantie erwähnt wurde. Ich kann euch nur empfehlen: Fahrt den Ceed selbst und bildet euch eure Meinung. Und gebt nix auf das Geschwätz von den zwei schwäbischen Maultaschen hier in diesem Testbericht!

Ich schreibe von Ungarn! Der Golf ist sehr teuer! Der Kia ist der beste in diesen kleine classe, gibt es 7 yahre garantee und die konkurenten must zurückbleiben von Kia, kan die garnicht machen der Kia ist umfassbar. Der Kia ist wirklich unglaublich gut und der Preis ist wunderbar wenig. Ich muss eine kaufen:)

ich sage auch dass der kia in diesem moment ist das einzige auto in der kleinen klasse die sich das geld verdient!!ich hab eine tucson aber der i30 gefallt mir nicht. Der kia ist echt sehr schon

mein Sohn fährt einen Golf V, 1.9 TDI mit 105 PS und ich fahre einen Kia Ceed 1.5 CRdi 115 PS. Der Golf ist innnen schöner - das ist aber auch alles! Kia verbaut einen Commonrail-Diesel mit 2 oben liegenden Nockenwellen. Der Motor ist leise und läuft gut. Ganz anders der Golf-Motor: Pumpe-Düse, anfällig, rauh und laut. Beschleunigung: exakt gleich. Top-Speed (gemessen mit NAVI): Kia 204 km/h, Golf 196 km/h. Garantiezeit? Preis? CO2-Ausstoß? Definitiv vorne: der Kia! Aber: Geschmackssache!

you get the excuse when you have 200k km (if) on your Kia and the door lock keeps falling from the car....and half of the cheap plastic blowers are broken.

@snip84:bwir brauchen nicht Englsch zu schreiben! :) Ich fahre meinen Kia jetzt drei Jahre und habe ca. 64000 km dauf. Die Ablage für die Sonnenbrille (wo am Fahrzeughimmel auch die Schalter für die Innenbeleuchtung angebracht sind) ist kaputt gegangen.
Mein zweites Auto ist ein VW Lupo GTI ist und da ist die Anmutung der Innenausstattung schon wesentlicher besser.
Was man auch nicht vergessen darf: der Wiederverkaufswert eines VW ist ungleich höher als der eines Kia :)
