as for the core, for evazote and plastozote, get fiberglass sticks, same kind as those they sell with a reflector on top if you're in a country that knows winter. ask me if you need more info
Me and my friends used the fiberglass driveway rods, for the core's of our weapons, then took those cheapy camping pads from Wal-mart and used them as the padding. Also lots of duct tape and hot glue, they work quite well :)
@parkourdemon i don't like hot glue, it tends to break or rip off the foam. i prefer evazote for the foam, and contact glue since it stays flexible when dry. not too forgiving tho

not really stupid and not all hollywood, dual wield is used mainly for offence, In a arena fight like these, I think it's pretty effective to use 2 weapons. It also depends how agile you are, if you're big and clumpsy, maybe a shield for better defence is smarter to use.

Nice, this is the first good LARP fighting I have ever seen. I'm sure Gladiators in Rome would have fought somewhat like this, to please the crowd. I think all this arguing between the WMA practitioners (such as me) and LARP players is stupid. Both groups have different methods and goals, WMA is a martial art while LARP is a game. WMA is for practical combat while LARP is for fun. Period.
Terrific, I do real WMA and I loved this video, LARP is different than WMA, these guys are having a great time and it looks fantastic, it's great theater (better than most fights you see in Hollywood)
