oh my god this is heartbreaking. though i would suggest her son move to europe for a while if he wants to be together with his partner. america is not going anywhere fast with equality

@jpg2502 Thanks for the suggestion. Unfortunately Italy doesn't allow same-sex marriage either. France allows civil union but doesn't allow immigration for the non European union partner. We are being patient and lucky to be able to use skype video chat and fly back and forth a few times a year.
