@ambientdiscord It is a remnant of a serious program of denazification in Europe and Germany in particular following the fall of the Nazi regime. It was necessary at the time, whether it is outdated today or not is up for question, but to say it was foolish to enact it is ignorant of the level of propaganda undergone before and during WWII.
@kairobinson Yes, it's foolish to have a law that takes away freedom of speech. It doesn't matter what era it's in, people have a right to say what they want.
The time is long overdue that realists remain polite with ridiculous religious folk and their fictional beliefs in an afterlife with an imaginary boss in the sky. We all have to get active and confront religious lunies outright.
You are not getting the point the way of the future is not simply intolerance, its rationality and human reason. This means using your rationality and reason to know when its time to stop tolerating idiocy.
moderates annoy me for just that reason, they hide the fundys.
just look at the issues in the uk(and its probably the same in the states). moderate muslim mosques often allow hardline wahabi muslims from saudi arabia to preach all their crap about the "kuffars" and how they should be dismantling democracy to create a muslim state. along with all their crap about jihad, and taking away womens and gays rights.
fuck tolerance of religion, fuck tolerance of intolerance
Faith deserves zero respect. Why respect something so baseless, something that only appears in desperation? Religion truly is the greatest lie ever told, nothing comes close.
The 3-day-old embryo has embryonic cells that are following the instructions in the DNA and chemical signals to do their thing. There's no brain, no mind, no soul. We can romanticize it if we want, but that doesn't change reality.
Christians are creepy. They fetishize virgnity (making their daughters attend "purity balls" where they give their daddy the key to a lock they wear, like f'in slaves!?!) and the "unborn" while demonizing sexuality and freedom of thought.
The 3 day old embryo has different kinds of cells than that of a fly's brain. I'm sure 150 fly-brain cells cannot grow into a potential human being but i'm not a biologist.
I question this term "potential". If any cell can be used to clone someone, then a cell from my ass is my "potential" twin!
And think about this: if an embryo is in a dish, then it isn't potentially anything, since it isn't in a womb and it won't grow into anything. You'd have to implant it, which is you doing it, not the embryo doing it under its own potential.
And what does "potential" mean, anyway? It means not real! So stop fighting for the rights of NOT real people!
Sam is so important.

There has never been a better time for us to debate religion! Were not getting burned at stake by the religious anymore! Now's the time!

Sam's arguments are pure joy for my ears, they're almost too good. Thx for the uploads.

For some reason the phrase 'all a christian has to say is here is jesus, and chek out his magic powers!' made me laugh hard.

Actually, we *do* have laws against denying the holocaust happened (here in Austria, and in Germany), but that's a different story.
tigsdk 2 years ago
such a foolish law honestly. that is like denying slavery happened in the US.

So the way of the future is intolerance?!
Self-satisfied pricks like this give atheism a bad name.

What's most creepy is when their priest finds that key.

I know this means absolutely nothing. The force of change this has on the universe, life in it and the unknown amounts to ziltch...but..
