If you like the music and heritage of genious Gainsbourg, if you love french movies, the nouvelle vague and everything connected with this great era, make sure to NOT WATCH THE MOVIE. It's brutally shitty, doesn't even scratch the surface and looks like a theater live performance. And whoever edited the trailer did an amazing job making this look ten times than the actual flick.

I think the role of the protagonist was not very good, but then again, I think there is no actor in the world that could ever fit in such a complex, strong personality like that of Gainsbourg in his best years. The movie is fantastic, though.

The mouse thingy is like a surreal thing of Gainsbourg's imagination, he saw an anti semitic poster and thought the picture in it resembled him uncannily, and then the picture came to life and followed him everywhere.
