To be fair it takes a lot more work to make the H22 faster than the K20. The K20 is a beast to bolt ons and a tune... Also, considering it's an SH they lose a decent amount of top end because of ATTS. A stock base model 5spd prelude will stay ahead of an SH with bolt ons. We make no power off intakes, he doesn't have a header, just exhaust... he's probably losing power with that setup. That RSX is probably putting about 225 to the wheels.
In my BB6 with I/H/E/S2K TB + Tune I'm sitting at 195-205whp (depending on dyno) and about 185wtq. I beat Type S off the line but lose by about a car length from 40-120 from a roll. The problem with the H22 is simply tuning. When I got my tune I gained 30 mid range hp and 15 top end, our power band is all over the place. The RSX-S and the base Prelude weigh the same amount, only the SH tips the scales at over 3k. the only advantage the K20 really has is i-Vtec, which really does make a big dif.

@leschampagnes1 yea man, they weigh around 3100 pounds if im not mistaken ... compared to the civics 2500 for the coupe and even less weight for the hatch, even the integras weigh around 2600 ... my numbers might be slightly off but thats a good idea of the weight difference ... plus h22's can only have like 1 or 2 transmissions as opposed to the gsr, type r, LS, and si transmissions available for the b series motors... ludes have nice top end compared to other hondas stock for stock tho !!

@wajalama a motor will make the same bhp and torque regardless of whether it has an automatic or manual transmission. A motor using an auto tranny will generally make less whp than one using a manual due to more drivetrain loss through the auto tranny, but the bhp will remain unaffected.

An M3 with an automatic transmission will have less bhp than its manual counterpart, etc. It's uncommon for an automatic to have more hp than a manual STOCK. Not to mention that stock automatics have lower top speed and weigh more. Don't believe me? Go to ANY car enthusiast forum and ask, I dare you.
@wajalama I don't need to do research to know that a manufacturer doesn't usually purposely water down a motor that is being used with an automatic transmission. If 2 cars have the EXACT same motor while one uses an auto tranny and the other uses a manual, there is no difference in bhp. The older auto RX8s had a 4 port design and the manual had the 6 port. In newer models the auto tranny can't handle the 9000rpm redline which is why it's weaker but that's usually not the case in most cars.

And if your claim of cars with a manual tranny are lighter than ones with auto trannys is true, than why when looking at specifications on any car review is there not two separate curb weight specs? O that's right, because there usually isn't a significant difference in the curb weight.

Stock paddle shifter systems in performance cars now are faster around the track and in a straight line plus you have an auto option
@belkmysta Car and Driver use manual transmissions on the performance cars they test whenever they have the chance, and if they don't, then they use whatever option they have (ie: paddle shifters, etc.). Same goes for other automobile magazines and such.

I'll leave it to you to do the deducing on your own.

The USDM H22A1 made 190hp, the H22A4 made 195hp. JDM H22A Makes 200 hp, the H22A7 Euro R makes 218hp. Lets see how fast you run with 252 pounds....it IS alot of weight. Dont throw numbers around.

most cars that are not mid or rear engine will have problems hooking from a dig on all season tires. If anything hondas are better at gripping from a dig due to their low amount of torque. I'd rather do roll races to save my tires. Also, with a roll race theres less chance of driver error so you can see which car has faster acceleration more accurately.

Good video but if the dude in the lude could drive you would have never walked on him like that.. My custom lude would prob be a great run with you, and might win but would deff be fun, I wish he had a vtec control and new how to use it, the race would have been alot diff.. next time let him get to like 60- or maybe 75 and than both hit it and watch the vtec work it's magic.. I have a big group of guys that go out every weekend raceing, and about the whole only real racers drive stick bullshit, you must have never been in a fast auto. i have several friends with autos that would walk over whatever you had, One has an auto supra, and my best friend has a right hand drive auto twin turbo 300zx , but i do agree stick is much more fun.. You want to run Come to Morland ave sunday nights in atlanta Georgia.. we'll see who shows.

That's like saying an automatic W/E is better than a manual one, which is not. Go learn something new. @wajalama a motor will make the same bhp and torque regardless of whether it has an automatic or manual transmission. A motor using an auto tranny will generally make less whp than one using a manual due to more drivetrain loss through the auto tranny, but the bhp will remain unaffected.

@belkmysta Oh really? Why don't you go and do some research on cars and tell me what else you have in mind. For example, an automatic RX8 will have less bhp than its manual counterpart. An M3 with an automatic transmission will have less bhp than its manual counterpart, etc. It's uncommon for an automatic to have more hp than a manual STOCK. Not to mention that stock automatics have lower top speed and weigh more. Don't believe me? Go to ANY car enthusiast forum and ask, I dare you.

@wajalama I don't need to do research to know that a manufacturer doesn't usually purposely water down a motor that is being used with an automatic transmission. If 2 cars have the EXACT same motor while one uses an auto tranny and the other uses a manual, there is no difference in bhp. The older auto RX8s had a 4 port design and the manual had the 6 port. In newer models the auto tranny can't handle the 9000rpm redline which is why it's weaker but that's usually not the case in most cars.

Then HOW, HOW is there an automatic 370z that makes the same bhp than a regular manual 370z? And that's not the only car I have in my list, I can assure you that. No, Nissan does not use black magic into their 7-speed auto.

I simply told you most cars regardless of whether they have an auto or manual tranny will have the same bhp as long as they're using the same motor. You apparently don't know what bhp is. Bhp is measured BEFORE power is delivered through the transmission and drivetrain and such. Whp is what is measured on the dyno and comes after drivetrain loss.

@wajalama In general, a manual tranny will have less drivetrain loss than an auto tranny but isn't always the case due to the manufacturer's design of the transmissions. And if your claim of cars with a manual tranny are lighter than ones with auto trannys is true, than why when looking at specifications on any car review is there not two separate curb weight specs? O that's right, because there usually isn't a significant difference in the curb weight.

@belkmysta Actually, I DO know what bhp means and I am very well aware of how everything works. The bottom line is this. Manuals will ALWAYS dominate on the track and are good for the 1/4 mile. The only automatics I respect are the ones that are fully built and made for race use ONLY. Not silly little 4,5,6-speed automatics that break more easier than their manual counterparts, racing ones only. Oh, and for that comment on the "car reviews" on performance cars, guess what transmission they use?

@wajalama Ok dude I agree most manuals outperform automatics in performance and I never stated otherwise. I was just saying an auto tranny won't cause a loss in bhp compared to a manual if using the same motor. I never said anything else about it and you argued against it. But anyways traditional manuals will not always dominate any longer and that's true even now. Stock paddle shifter systems in performance cars now are faster around the track and in a straight line plus you have an auto option

@belkmysta Car and Driver use manual transmissions on the performance cars they test whenever they have the chance, and if they don't, then they use whatever option they have (ie: paddle shifters, etc.). Same goes for other automobile magazines and such.

The most common reason why manuals are USUALLY better (note that I put emphasis on usually) is because they are lighter, simpler, and have been around before automatics were even made. But I'm not here to give you a history lesson on transmissions, and I'll get to the point. I know the automatic RX8 had a 4 port in some regions only and had lower compression, but guess why? I'll leave it to you to do the deducing on your own.

Prelude = 3,042....252lb difference is not alot and if you think it is well then good luck to you. i dont know why everyone has this need to slander preludes as heavy, 3k is not heavy also the lude has 20 more hp and 20 more torque (220hp + 163tq) - dont get me wrong i like both but i dont like when people judge books by the cover

The USDM H22A1 made 190hp, the H22A4 made 195hp. JDM H22A Makes 200 hp, the H22A7 Euro R makes 218hp. Lets see how fast you run with 252 pounds....it IS alot of weight. Dont throw numbers around.

most cars that are not mid or rear engine will have problems hooking from a dig on all season tires. If anything hondas are better at gripping from a dig due to their low amount of torque. I'd rather do roll races to save my tires. Also, with a roll race theres less chance of driver error so you can see which car has faster acceleration more accurately.

Remember it's easier to pull than push. If you don't think so then why do we pull trailers rather than push? Why do the World's Strongest Men contestants pull buses instead of pushing? And in the gym it's easier to pull weight than bench press weight.

ofcourse. that prelude was not tuned bro. my car back in the day was bone stock with a v1 aem intake and i kept up with that k20. it walked away once i hit 85 mph. and dude bone stock both cars the h22 would win.,only the type s is a bit faster than the stock h22. btw, a type s prelude would take a type s rsx. bottom line.
