If that were true the majority of gay people I know would have killed themselves this year. I have never known a gay person that committed suicide. Many gay men do become unattractive as they get older (assuming they ever were attractive). The same is true of both gay and straight, male and female. Aging does that.

The armed forces of the UK have been fully open to gay people for several years now and have many gay personel. Nothing seems to have happened so far. LOL ! If that were true the majority of gay people I know would have killed themselves this year. I have never known a gay person that committed suicide. They are what is known as "chickenhawks"-those who are quick to call for war while having yellowed out when it was their turn to serve. They are detestable but know no shame so they nevers hut up. They are anti-gay but are not manly. Sissies, hypo-krytes.

Good video. What politicians don't understand is that when you have to put your life in the hands of the guy next to you, it doesn't matter what the guy looks like or how he lives his life, you just want the best. And if the politicians and pogue brass who love to micromange need to leave it alone. If someone wants to volunteer to fight for their countries freedom they should respected and held highly not singled out and degraded.

gays are allowed to serve in the military. the are just told not to mention it because it would make some soldiers angry or feel wierd. That might be a problem in war. its the soldiers that cause the discrimination problem

Any soldier that is "distracted" by gays fighting amongst them is IMO not a good war fighter, and probably has many other personality issues that are not disirable. I would think that bigger issues would take president in the line of fire. Former and retired gay soldiers that have been out to their peers mostly get positive support. Why put the bruden on the gay service member who does his job well? Put it with the ones who can't be professional enough to put that aside and do their job.

I can be hard, but you must acknowlege that homophobia exists because it is taught from a young age and so it becomes a part of that person. It is an indoctrination that in western cultures has its roots in the judeo-christian tradition. And it sometimes requires someone to question everything they know or thought they knew for them to change. Just know that thanks to brave people like you there are less poepl like that with each new generation.

If people are 'fighting for our country' which is supposedly about freedom... they should be mature enough to accept all the diversity within said country. If they can't deal with it they shouldn't be protecting our supposed freedom.

The armed forces of the UK have been fully open to gay people for several years now and have many gay personel. Nothing seems to have happened so far. LOL ! I'm very proud of our gay service men and women, many of them can and do march in full uniform, as do our gay police officers, in many of our gay pride events.

They used similar arguments about "group cohesion" when the military opposed mixed race and mixed sex units. During the second world war, U.S. troops were segregated on grounds of race. In recent years gays have acquired equal rights in the British and other European armies. The British Army hasn't disintegrated. The problem is that U.S. politicians depend on the votes of rednecks to get elected. They are frightened of upsetting voters.

I think you're incredibly brave given you're in the military and all honour to you for speaking out and standing up for gay rights which really equates to "human" rights. You are surely an asset to the US armed services. I'm sure you'll be the target of heaps of "hate" msgs but just know that there are many others out there supporting you. Supporting what you do and what you stand for. (I'm not American but I do know about your constitution, pity more don't take the time re-read)

Good luck with your military career. I was in the Air Force and I know how they are towards gays. This was before Don't ask Don't tell mind you. I hope you don't get kicked out because of You Tube. Saying that, I agree with what you are saying here. There are so many other types of cultures for those christians to live with that ours wouldn't make much of a difference.

great video :-) im not american, so could you please clarify what the "don't ask, don't tell" policy means? i thought it meant that u could be gay in the military as long as you didn't point it out or advertise it. how careful do u have to be telling these ppl, bcos couldn't you get discharged if they find out?

Yes, I could get kicked out. However, I could possibly get kicked out even if I don't advertise it or point it out. The law doesn't really protect us gays, it just allows homophobic people to continue living in denial that there are gays among them. I have a video that explains the rules.
