  • Is it also possible to say 抱歉 as sorry?

  • YOUR BEAUTIFUL!

  • @holographicnevez Xiexie~ Thank you! :)

  • @PeggyTeachesChinese And Xiexie for letting me learn how to spell Xiexie. I had no idea it was with X's. I'm learning Kanji for Japanese and wondered how different the Chinese translations would be. Same meanings for the most part, but said COMPLETELY different.

  • @wooohaaa77 Thanks for watching my video~ Good luck with your learning Japanese. I studied it for one year in college. Jia you! :)

  • Actually the 思 is pronounced " Yi " not " YIˋ ".

  • your mandarin pronoucciation is not even standard, stop misleading ppl!!

  • @lixian0072000 Oh yeah? Tell me what "standard" Mandarin means.

  • @PeggyTeachesChinese that means you sound like ppl coming from china not a chinese grew up in US.

  • @PeggyTeachesChinese i hate when people say standard. dont let rude people get you down. peggy you are a great teacher! i looked at that persons profile. it shows their recent comments. everything they say is hatefull. so it seems this person has no life haha. peggy you are a great teacher, dont listen to those rude people. keep doing what you do best, and thats making great mandarin videos :)

  • In "bù haǒ yì sī" , the tone of the fourth character is not "sì", and it usually has no tone or empty tone by stressing the third character tone, which can be labled as "si" .By listening to your negligeable accent carefully, I guess you are from southern china .

    Thanks for your tutorial.

  • awesom!!!!!!!!!! xD

  • "ni hao,wo jiao alyssa"your so good in speaking mandarin,I learned a lot from you..

    "xie xie"

    hehehe...i love you...

  • what..the black guy speak mandarin...

  • Thanks for making videos, Peggy! It really helped me and I think I'll start to study Mandarin harder!

  • what did you say at the end?

"xue xue" or something like that...

    is it "thanks"?

and what is the tone for it?

  • @iDramaholic Yes, it was "Xie4 xie4/ Thank you" - fourth fourth tone. :)

  • @PeggyTeachesChinese 你好 Peggy, actually I had a question about 謝謝 - when I was first learning about it a long time ago (10+ years), I read that it generally went: xie4 xie0 (like a soft tone). Are you supposed to use 4th tone for both words?

    謝謝! :)

  • @BuayaGuy That are right. Standard one should be "謝謝 xie4xie5" Thank you for pointing it out. :)

  • All your lessons are very easy to understand. The video and examples work WELL for me.

  • @bobkool40 Awesome!

  • Nice one, Peggy! Nice cleavage, too!

  • Peggy can you teach taiwanese (min nan)? I am an overseas chinese who speaks fu jian hua at home but i think it's somehow different from the taiwan version..

    thanks!

  • bu hao yi si...I can understand Taiwanese pretty well but my pronunciation is very poor as I wasn't brought up speaking it frequently. :(

  • what tone is guan xi in "mei Guan xi?"

  • guan1 - first tone

xi5 - fifth tone, but it's pronounced 'first tone' colloquially.

  • 不好意思!

    读 思 不是 寺

  • Hieh Hsieh =p You're so great!!

I want to learn more :D keep em coming!!

  • aren't bu hao yi si and dui bu qi sort of inter-changeable? so bu hao yi si would just be excuse me also? xie xie ni ^-^

  • Bu hao yi si means excuse me and sorry. Dui bu qi means sorry. But Dui bu qi is used to apologize on something serious; if one accidentially steps on a stranger's foot, bu hao yi si would do. :)

  • ah thank you :) so if you wanted to get a waiter to come to your table would you say bu hao yi si?

  • You can get her attention by addressing her "xiao3 jie3 - miss (appropriate in TW) followed by "bu hao yi si", that'd be really courteous and nice. :)

  • ah so for a guy would it just be xiao ye or lao ye? sorry about all of these questions but thank you for answering :)

  • Mister - xian1 sheng1

No worries! Keep them coming. :)

  • Always say 小姐 when you talk to a woman. And when you address males always say 先生. :]

  • Is 'Mei Guan Xi' used as a 'general' OK phrase or only used when you want to forgive someone?

For e.g. Can I use it when someone asks' me my opinion on something and I want to say neither 'good' nor 'bad'?

    Thanks so much. :-)

  • It could mean the general OK phrase and also used when you forgive someone.

Did you mean "so so"? We would say "hai2 hao3".

I hope it answers your question. :)

  • It sounds like a very clever style! Nice going Peggy! I'll be sure to keep up with your videos! Also...I wish I had a laptop with enough power to view HD videos...oh well, I can see well enough without.

  • Xie Xie! :)

  • Heehee I have learnt some Chinese

Zao Shang Hao (though I guess it must be evening there, which I don't know yet eeheheh)

  • I got this from mordeth13, thanks! ^^

  • Bu ke qi! :D

  • I saw this video from mordeth's page :) 5star for vid, and oh im chinese :)

  • Thanks men

  • Many thanks to Mordeth13 for promoting this video!!!!!

  • Aha, you`re the one showing a bit of cleavage in in one of Mordeth`s vids!!! I thought you looked familiar!!

  • You were right! That was me happened to be wearing the same top!

  • Taiwan and China spoken MANDARIN (chinese) are different. They intonation and the way it is spoken are different. So, though the people of these two country may be able to communicate, the understanding may still be need a little working on...

  • Thank hokila678 for pointing that out.

I did figure that but since I'm from Taiwan the Mandarin lessons I provide on here would be the Chinese that are spoken in Taiwan. :)

  • 所以妳也看的懂【漢字】(MANDARIN),【中國字】(chinese)很多台灣人是看不懂,要用《猜》的。chinese can't read some of MANDARIN too。

  • Hen hao Peggy! I watch your videos again and again!

  • Xie xie! : )

Please subscribe to my channel and spead the words.

  • Peggy try to encorage people to comment on your video

  • I wonder who that is?

  • Great vid! Short and interesting! I especially loved the boob shot at 0:22 ! Excuse me while I masturbate.

  • Thanks, take your time!

  • Just watched it again. That black guy kept looking down your shirt! Don't you just hate black people?

  • Don't get misunderstood. The black dude in the video is a good friend of 13mordeth. Nothing racial. :)

  • omg that is right!! I forgot his name though! Doesn't it start with a L? :/ No wonder he seemed so familiar!!

  • Ahh I remember now its Louis isn't it?? :D

  • According to Mordeth's video:

    UnderAge Asian

    That was fairly correct! :D

  • Wait so you are his gf! Saw that video to refresh my memory and wow I remember now!! Haha
