My Christmas present every year used to be either a Weather Guide wall calendar or Weather Whys edand Wonders calendar. I loved the thermometer on top of the Whys and Wonders calendar.
And everybody who is commenting on the calendar, I am a wizard when it comes to that. It's nice to see I'm in good company here. I have this trick where you all tell me the month, day, and year you were born and I'll tell you what day you were born on. Yes, this is true.
@whattheheck1000 And, it's only every 28 years that leap day (February 29th) falls on the same day of the week. The next leap year is 2012 and February 29th will fall on a Wednesday, for the first time since 1984.
@ILovestorms Yes! So if anyone has calendars from like 1982, 1954, 1926, 1898, 1870, or even farther back (28 year pattern) they are reusable this year! '80s were rad? Get a 1982 calendar. '50s were swell? Get a 1954. A benefit is that you can just keep getting new calendars that are 28, 56, 84, 112, 140 years behind every year... that '80s fan don't have to hit 1990 until 2018!
@ILovestorms So here's how to find a date in the far past... say, June 21, 1909, without having a mental calendar. First, find a date you know in 1909 or in its 28-year cycle. We'll use 1993. Find a date you know. August 28, 1993. Saturday. Subtract weeks. July 31, 1993 Saturday July 03, 1993 Saturday June 19, 1993 Saturday Finally, add two days and you're at June 21, 1993. Monday. June 21, 1909 is also a Monday.
wow look at the change in temperatures on the tcf and the regional forecast pages. There was a cold front in the Ohio Valley (hence the range in temperatures between Detroit and Cleveland). I remember waking up on New Year's Eve 1992 to a temperature of 60 degrees and knew it was too good to be true.
Weather you can always turn to... how I long for those days.

@JJGSeven13 You, too? When is your birthday? And, do you have asperger's (a form of autism)? That's why I am so good at this because I have it.

Ha...I remember purchasing that severe weather calendar...wow how time flies.

Today, is Wednesday, December 30th, just like it was in 1992, when this local forecast aired.

@ILovestorms I think all dates from 1992 (from March 1 to December 31) had the same day of the week as their equivalent 2009 counterparts.
Allow me to demonstrate:
March 18, 1992 - Wednesday
March 18, 2009 - Wednesday
(by the way, March 18 is a completely random date)

@whattheheck1000 You're exactly right. Here is another year with those dates: 1981 (the whole year, 1987, the whole year.)

@ILovestorms Or any two years 28 years apart, e.g.
May 1, 1982 - Saturday
May 1, 2010 - Saturday
