I love an application called insomnia. I works by making your display not dim and also, if you connect your macbook to an external monitor or TV it lets you close the lid, without it putting your computer to sleep, :D

Oh, one more thing. Socialite (for Macs) is a great alternative to TweetDeck that handles Twitter, Facebook, Google Reader (and feeds in general), Flickr and other social networks in one customisable stream. You can update statuses, make replies etc. all from the app. TweetDeck is great as a multi-platform app, though.

Nice video. I downloaded Dropbox immediately because it's definitely something I could do with. :)

Quicksilver, however... I tried it a while ago, but I find that it's a little pointless. The Spotlight search on Macs does basically the same thing and you can get to it quickly with Cmd + Space.

By the way, I used to use DownloadHelper when I had Firefox as my main browser. If there are any Chrome users here, check out the extension 'YouTube Downloader'. Obviously that's for YouTube vids only.
