  • OK....You trade in a reliable durable car....to get a car from a company that now no longer exists, and yet you are still making monthly payments on it......SMART IDEA!

  • thats a chevy chase station wagon that was used in the movie "National Lampoons Vacation"

  • Wow I just bought one of these as my first car. [video up] And it wasn't even the LT1! Not to mention 1991 rather then 1996.

  • you are a fuckin retard. there ar people lookin for them cars all the time. you could of got probablly 2000 to 2500 off of someone for that not only would it make somone else happy but it wouls still be on the road. you fuckin suck you are sellin it on the video as bein one hell of a car so why not keep it stupid fuck you and fuck our dirty muslim president obama.

  • @Ladybirdkisses92 You cant blame him for taking advantage of the cash for clunkers program, why would he take $2-2.5k when the gov't probably gave him $4k? You need to blame the domestics for building crappy cars that were not worth buying, which sent themselves into bankruptcy.

  • mother fucker. buy a honda now be happy and don't put vids of it on youtube! we are not intrested in fartcan-sounds. so fuck off bitch :)

  • Back in Japan: Joshi "Grandfather, will we EVER get back at the Americans for Hiroshima?" "Yes my son, Even Now they have borrowed HUGE sums of money from China, & are buying new cars from Us." " How will that help?" " We have a Kill circut built into our ignition systems; on 12-12-2012 we push a button and a sattellite sends the signal to disable these cars. Then we extract our revenge on them while they are paralyzed...

  • so you junk a good car thats all ready paid for in full. to get a car with no guts just so you can have higher insurance and a car payment. too bad beacuse I was going to tell you about an oil company that puts all other oil comps to shame. now that you junked one of the last big cars left in america I'am not going to let you in on this oil secret . Its what big oil comps don't want you to know.

  • we should destory it now....

  • you would have gotten money fron a demo derby guy

  • Sorry. I did not read all of the description. The car still was not bad enough to be killed, though.

  • Why destroy this fine vehicle with probably no issues? I would have gladly taken it instead!

  • theres alot of people out there that would have cherished this buick...me im one of them. so one less awesome comfortable car on the road ...awesome bro

  • sadface you took the air filter out right?

  • Hey men, put the hearse out so we can see the good cars!!!... I'm kidding, very good video, Roadmaster is one of my favorites cars

  • If a new car devalues 5k, the minute it leaves the sales yard, then getting a 4k rebate from the government is not that attractive really, when you still have to fork out the remaining balance for purchase of a new vehicle.

  • Oh Tazio that burnout was something else! Farewell Roadmaster......*sigh*

  • I like Buicks but this one appears to be a POS . can't disagree with you for getting $4500 for it.

  • The 1994-96 Roadmaster wagons have been tagged as," Future Collectibles", and you traded it in as a,"Clunker." So, while your Pontiac is losing value, the Roadmaster will be gaining value!!!! Someone saw you coming!!!! you should have sold it on E-Bay. People always are looking for these!!! DUH!!!!!!!!! You don't know about cars, do ya?

  • What you fail to realize is that the junk yards which take the "clunkers" make the most profit off of the used engines in the vehicles they recieve. But if the engine is killed, what good does it do?

  • FIX THE WAGON DICK HEAD

  • I would love to have a old wagon like this one. What a loser. I wonder what new car you got for this classic. Still paying payment on new car? hehe... You just got SUCKER!!!!

  • Wagon's are already rare. Why destroy this classic?

  • Motors good, 2+ tons-weak cheap trans.

Later ones used plastic gas tanks, some with 3.42 rears, other than that, nothing to write home about.

  • so if u liked the car so much then why did u trade it in for the cash for clunkers program? that car was still in good shape.

  • no, it really wasn't in good shape at all.

  • then you should have taken care of it.

  • For how long? Is one required to "take care" of a car past 250K? How many cars get "taken care of" for that long? Eventually things just wear out. I wasn't about to do a full restoration on it. Jeez.

  • How is crushing hudreds of thousands of working cars helping the economy?

  • THE CARS PROGRAM will be repeated in 2010 Are you

    Ready ASSHOLES

  • some body should turn you in for cash, since your brain seems to take more oxygen for you to think almost straight! Why the hell would you let this beautiful beast die. I am ashamed.

  • I couldn't have said it better my self. another one of America's "Sheople" The sheep will always follow the shepard. If people would start thinking for themselves and stop letting others tell them what to think we may be able to save whats left of this great country. Till then these "strut-tower" experts and thier offspring are the future of my beloved America.

  • Would'nt be too worried by 'rusty front strut towers' considering this car has double wishbone front suspension, NOT struts.

  • you are correct sir. I should change that to "giant rust holes in inner fenders". 13 years of salty winters...

  • easy rod calm down its jus a video

  • seems like u just disregaurded any normal maintenance....

  • That's the type of car I'm getting for a first car, so the govt can suck my LT1 V8 hauling ass. Those things are huge, my aunt's got one and it is smooth sailing all day long. Maintained by GM since it was bought.

  • I had a 95 caprice wagon with the LT1....scrapping one of these bad boys just seems so wrong....that LT1 was a dope powerplant....

  • @Bellwestern80 Ditto. Obama can suck on the fumes from my carbed 350 with no catalytic converters!

  • goodbye "chevick" roadmaster :(

  • lol your caprice wagon's soul will live on.. it will smoke it's tires around you where ever you live in it's LT1 glory forever. Yeah and my all wheel drive 2000 GMC Safari will flex it's traction might every winter of the great beyond. THEY will live on in our souls. Don't feel stupid over your ride it's your friend and always will be.

  • Great tune!

  • lo an behold, they DO exist.

  • although I disagree with the entire program, this car deserves to be put to death, sorry to any station wagon lovers out there. The motor was the only thing good going for it.

  • Did you get your doors blown off by one today?

  • Roadmasters are fine cars.

  • This Roadmonster would have kicked ass in a demolition derby and won you $10K.

  • It appears as though the U.S. is entering a new and difficult transition period. Realistically, if you need a big American car or truck, buy it soon. Once Chrysler and GM gear up, we are all going to see a flood of smaller cars to meet the new federally mandated higher MPG standards. Large cars and trucks that we have grown up with just will not be made anymore. If you are in the market for a fuel efficient car, snap one up now, as high demand will drive up prices. Basically, we're all screwed.

  • They can try to make me stop driving my 87 300zx when I'm dead. There is no fucking way I'd drive a prius or any other piece of shit car they want you to buy. Besides I still get 25mpg city/hwy average. No silly OBDII either. Oh and I can actually give my car a tune up by myself without plugging it into a computer.

God Bless the 80's for producing good cars!

  • the prius uses a huge li-ion battery mfg in china and used up more resources than that car could ever dream of

  • Screw you.

  • no, you fucking jap loving ass, scerw off and jack off how fucking awesome your fucking prius american cars kick ass

  • This program is the STUPIDEST thing I have ever seen. All you people that support it that think you're so smart...hope you have a hard-hat on when the economy comes crashing down, after the dollar is absolutely worthless. Just more proof of how people can't see past "now" (If it's new it MUST be better, right?) Let's fix the economy by getting people to incur more debt, yes that 's a GREAT idea....lol (dripping sarcasm in case you can't tell)

  • you are a fuckin dumbass, i bet the new pontiac cant cook a set of tires like that, i hope you burn in hell for killin that ca.... R.I.P LT1

  • i bet the ETCS in that potianic would fail :p when you reve ti up to high

  • Comment removed

  • damn, I'm a brazilian, in my country have so many idiots doing this, i can't believe in america have that kind of idiot too...

  • K&N intake!!! lmao

  • Folks are saying it's not helping but who are these people? Are they people that don't or can't cash in on the deal? I see people buying cars now. Even some people that don't have a clunker

to trade in are coming into dealerships.

It's getting people to spend money and to stop being scared in this jacked up economy.

You have to admit it's getting a bunch of buckets of the road!

  • I too love B-bodys, especially the wagons and have owned at least a half dozen, over the years. That being said, listen too this guy, the car was wore out and not worth much of anything, I can buy good LT1 motors for $400-$500 at the yard, with a warranty. Who wants rusted out body panels?

I hate the Cash 4 Clunker program, but this car fits the plan and was junk, listen to the poor guy. Even if it was worth $4500 in parts, does he tear it apart in the yard and wait for you guys to stop by?

  • who said cash for clunkers was a law? fuck obama! this program is such a waste!

  • you are missing the point, buddy! Now that this pig is off the road and is replaced by a prius, our precious planet will be a cleaner place.

  • global warming is a scam. the government just wants money. go fuck yourself.

  • Agreed. This has been the coldest summer in how long?

  • this summer has not been cold.

  • problem is there are a million more to replace that one ( not everybody can afford to buy a new car) heck most people would kill to have that road master this program is a waste of your and my money that's right obama is giving away your money.

  • I need a second car right now! I work for a cleaning service where I have to carry all my supplies in my '05 Dodge Stratus. I hate doing this because I mess up the interior. The dealer who bought this car will not save the parts, all of it will go to the scrapyard after he puts a chemical in the engine to destroy it because the Govt. pays him the $4,500 back for each car he destroys. This program is a waste of money.

  • What you typed makes no sense. You've been smelling too many chemicals.

  • What do you mean? This program is garbage, I'm speaking about the car in the video. The person in the video( if you read his story on the right) claims the dealership he sold it to will save all the parts, the dealer does not care about this. He will destroy the engine and crush the car + parts or else he will not get paid by the Govt. The person in the video could of done some repairs himself if he loved it so much, or donated the car to a needy family.

  • Only a couple thousand of these things were built.. Only about 25,000 wagons.

  • THE DEMOCRATS SUCK

  • @molly1246 Generalizations suck.

  • see if u can try that in ur new POS toyota or honda. FUK IMPORTS AND HYBRIDS

  • you are dead on

  • Actually, this isn't going to help salvage yards at all. I just saw a special on my local news where they interviewed several junkyard owners. They said the majority of the sales they get are people wanting a motor.

They also said that after a certain amout of time, they have to crush the cash for clunkers car.

  • Why did you buy another GM idiot?

  • so much for recycling they fill that LT1full of salt water and sand

    and locked it up

    how green is that

  • I bought a 1991 Buick Roadmaster Wagon in Fla. off of Ebay from a retired man. It had the 305 V8 under the hood. I flew down and drove it back to Michigan. It averaged 29 MPG on the trip home. B-Body Caprice and Roadmasters are the best cars ever built.

  • Comment removed

  • Part II: Our government needs to do this to help off-set the trade imbalance and help pay back the trillions borrowed for TARP ... now you know the rest of the story...

  • You may ask what's up with this cash for clunkers? Well, all of the steel in the cars that are being scrapped will eventually be sent to China (BTW China is hoarding precious metals and as much scap as they can- he who has the metals, rule in manufacturing) where they will belch into the atmosphere pollutants greater than these cars produced when re-smelting and then manufacturing junk to be sent back to us.

  • Ya lets create more debt by everyone getting a car loan. Awesome. Who's simple minded.

  • I am crying right now.....Leaving tomorrow in my 94 Roady on vacation plenty of room for our kids and all our gear.

  • What will the dealers do if Congress does not put more money into the program? People have already traded enough cars to exhaust the funds the govt budgeted. Some of the EPA mileage ratings also got changed. A 1997 Intrepid rated at 18 mpg on July 1st is now rated at 19 mpg. Its no longer an eligible car.

A guy in Knoxville traded his, the got a call two weeks later and found the law had changed. The dealer said he owed another $4500. He did not have it, so the dealer ate that money.

  • Better their $4,500 than wasting the tax money I paid in! They wanted to do this... let them or the dumbass who handed his car over to be destroyed eat it! The Clunker bill(and those who support it are Communists!

  • well guess what guys? THEYRE WORTH EVEN MORE NOW! get em whilst you can!

  • have fun buying your new crappy small eco car for 25k thinking you saved money with $4500 from the man-haha

  • I've just got to ask, have you watched the videos that have been posted showing the destruction of the engine once the sodium silicate has been poured in? It's like watching a car get murdered - that's why the furor over the video. The Roadmaster you traded in died a gruesome death before being crushed:

    /watch?v=X0IcIxhd8ks

  • I went to a demolition derby very recently. There was a roadmaster of the same vintage, and it looked to be rust-free, unlike mine. It died a gruesome, though spectacular death as well. So did 40 other v8 powered American cars. Maybe we should ban it. Or maybe people are free to do what they want.

  • I didn't say to ban Cash for Clunkers now, did I? Did I even infer it? No. I was merely pointing out to you why many people, myself included, are upset about the video.

You have your many reasons for discarding the Roadmaster, I understand that. However, are you understanding why people are upset, or are you merely demanding we see things your way and your way only?

  • By "ban it" I was referring to Demolition Derbies, in which a Roadmaster with LT1 was destroyed.....not infering anything from your post....II think people are upset about Cash for Clunkers in general, and my video honoring my used-up woodie is a good a place as any to vent. Though I think there is nothing upsetting about my video in and of itself. It was a great car. I made the vid for my pals to see. People should call their Congressman to vent about the program..

  • One less LT1 to transplant. One less body on frame rear wheel drive classic. One more cookie cutter plastic injected molded soulless new car on the road. A sad day indeed.

  • Try wider tires instead of bycicle wheels.

  • I don't understand Americans at all.... Just so stupid as always

  • You mean most Black Americans, we didn't vote this fag in office.

I am no longer proud to be an american.

  • ok dude.... lets not be racist..... it does make me ashamed at being an american at times though

  • I am not racist, it's just that I got tired of all my black friends saying they liked him because he was black and all the people on the news said the same, and now we have this.

  • Yeah, sadly millions of older classic cars are going to be sacrifice so that the Big Three Auto Dinasours & the Asian/European newer (more fuel efficient, but less likely to save your money or life in an accident) can make our roads mor green. Screw buying a new car, why not force the automakers to upgrade the engines on the older cars to the new standarts. But I guess they do not make as much money upgrading the engines. Nevermind that they are going to bankrupt in five years (The Big Three).

  • Wow, cash for clunkers is so sad it breaks my heart seeing good cars getting destroyed. So many people out there simply cannot afford a new car, good used cars are being ruined. I guess if we want a V8, the rest of us who don't have much money are out of luck now. What a sad waste.

  • Why did you not just sell it used? These wagons go for over what you got as a trade-in value quite often. Not to mention, another person who needs a car (cheap) could have gotten a great car (station wagons rule), or a scrap yard could have gotten a usable car. The drivetrain is one of the most valuable parts of the car. Scrap metal is not.

  • Look, I know my roadmasters and value. I look on ebay all the time. This one, however, was a POS. I would have maybe gotten a grand, only from someone who wanted the engine. Everything else was rusted, worn out, or trashed. If I could have gotten a few thou for it, yea, I would have "clunkered" something else. But for me to get this kind of dough, instantly, for a car that was headed to the scrap heap anyway...no brainer. I'm glad there are so many Roadmaster fans out there, though.

  • You just cant fix stupid!

  • wake up people this lame A__ program is being supported on the backs of hard working tax payers!!! This is a waste and a total OBAMANATION!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • you destroyed a car that was probably repairable, or at least the engine was salvagable. not anymore. thanks bud for ruining another american b body. there was another video on youtube of a caprice wagon that was near perfect, it was destroyed as well. this should stop, they dont and will never make these cars again. they are actaully a rare sight where i live, buffalo ny area. good news is i know someone at work with a roadmaster, he's not falling for this crap

  • think about this.. this big huge american car with its v8 only got 300 HP.. how did they get such a small amount of hose power out of such a big engine. VW has a 8 cyl that gets 414 HP. In the mid 90s BMW had many 8 cyl that hit 375 plus hp. Even Ford had engines hitting 320 hp that were v8s.. What a horrible excuse or an American car. No wonder they died off.

  • HP isn't important. Torque is what counts. How much torque did the two produce?

  • You can build that engine to make 700 HP. The engine was designed for long life and fuel economy with a small camshaft. And was designed in the late 80s. I bet that wagon could run the car you own. go back to your basement.

  • 2009 IIHS large cars best safety picks.. LARGE CARS Acura RL Audi A6 Cadillac CTS Ford Taurus Hyundai Genesis 4-door models built after 11/08 Lincoln MKS Mercury Sable Toyota Avalon Volvo S80
  • that car got better mpg than alot of them28mpg

GM still dont make any thing that gets that hi

GM would have been a better car compny

dont get in a crash with your new car

it not half the car you have now

  • Hope you didn't trade that Buick in on a Jap ricebox. Toyotas may get good mileage but in an accident or crash you have far better survival chances in a Buick over a Toyota.

  • I think I trust crash test ratings over your obvious bias sorry.

  • Thanks for filming these i got to save these for my future grand kids where they can see what they are paying for.

  • By the way, "the crusher" of course is a euphemism. It will go to a junk yard. I hope the dealer gets a few bucks for it (they are really hurting) Then the salvage yard can sell anything they can, and I hope they do, and make a few bucks off it. Everybody wins except the U.S. taxpayer, oh but that's me - and I pay plenty in Federal taxes, unlike half the nation.

  • cant disagree with you for getting $4500 for it, but i love the LT1 wagons. its a sad day for car lovers. =(

  • Watching this video makes me more appreciative of the older cars that weren't sent to the crusher.

And I must say this: CARS is not about the environment. It's about the economy. The whole point behind CARS is to stimulate the economy, nothing more. Thank you for spending my tax dollars to destroy a classic Roadmaster, a car built far better than any new GM product on the road today.

  • One afterthought regarding the Roadie - of that white-smoking tire show, you said, "TRY THAT IN YOUR MINIVAN."

Well, let's see you try that in your Pontiac!

  • maybe its a G8?

  • I hate you

All ya had to do was take that "wood" off, give the Roadmaster a little loving and you would have had a beast!.. o but you already had one!

  • Um, if I want another beast, I'll buy one with no rust and lower miles. And it would still have the wood.

  • And, by the way, every time you slide behind the wheel of your cramped ass G5, you're going to miss that roomy, comfortable Buick. Every time you make an attempt to accelerate or pass a semi truck on the interstate, you'll miss that LT1.

Good luck living life in the slow lane.

I suggest you take this video down. No one cares about a great car you trashed. You're going to get flamed all day long.

    Get used to being hated.

  • You had better bought a Pontiac G8 or Solstice. Otherwise, you aren't any better than the environmentalist pussy ass motherfuckers who started this flawed CFC bullshit in the first place.

Oh yeah, good luck doing burnouts like what you did in your Roadmaster in your faggy ass front-drive shitbox. I know for a fact that's what you bought.

  • If I want to do burnouts, I have 3 other cars that will blow the doors off the roadmaster. Wow, what a drama queen you are.

  • How does that Chevy Aveo twin feel drivin?

  • you sent a LT1 to the crusher, you do suck. the program sucks. i hate everything about all this. i would take thate car from you in a minute. to distroy america's last beasts is a shame. in fact that LT1 would have worked wonders in my 89 camaro. i have a nice running 350 tbi. well fuck you and fuck the envirmentalists

  • sure, eveyone would "take" the car for the engine. But would you give me $4500 bucks for it? Didn't think so. Oh and I agree on environmentalists.

  • $1000 for the engine. $300 for a trans. $200 for a rear end, $150 each for a full qr, $1,000 total for the interior, $300 for the front clip, $50-70 a door, Tailgate... I hope you dont ever own another Roadmaster wagon.

  • Oh and maybe $100 for your K@N, 100 for wheels and tires.... Just rough figure but its worth more in parts then as govt handout

  • Trans slipping. Quarters completely rusted through. Interior totally worn out. Door bottoms rusted. Tailgate totally rusted. Rear end not posi. I tried to sell the enging locally for $1000, no takers, unless I took it out for them (needed a rebuild). Yep everyone knows what I should have done, even though they don't know any details.

  • You took pride in your wagon to make a last ride vid, but wanted it to be crushed? Doing burnouts, pics with other cars.

I cant belive it. This program is the stupid.

Its okay if your chrushing something gay that no one cares about like a ragged out toyota camary or something. But not this.

  • You sir, are a dick head, there are still people out there that would love a pretty beast such as this.

And you know, now that they're crushing these guys, the value of this car would of done nothing but gone up.

You should of fixed it up. And you might of had a collector car.

They won't ever make them like this again.

  • Just sent my '90 Lincoln Town Car to the same fate last Saturday. Hard to see it go, but Chrysler matched the discount, so I couldn't refuse!

  • nooooooo! cmon not a roadie!

  • Very bad Karma Dude. one day you may realise what you have done.

  • Its a shame that it had to be crushed, I think they only built about 8,900 Roadmaster wagons in 96 too.

  • I can't believe you traded that car in to be crushed! This is exactly why I hate this program, such great cars being destroyed for no reason. And yours was in such great shape too.

  • So badly rusted out underneath you could see through it. Outside of the engine, not worth much at all. Still sad to see the old woodie go.

  • It still would of ran longer than a new car, rusted or not

  • Wow, what a nice car. This will be a classic in a few years, a monster-mobile with a corvette engine. Too bad it is going to be traded in on a G5.

  • Ah but what you couldn't see is the rust that was so bad, so extensive, that if it got rear ended by a chevy aveo, it would have fallen apart like the Bluesmobile at the end of the Blues Brothers.

  • Very nice Taz -- The hood ornament setup was primo.

Elwood: It's a hundred and six miles to Chicago, we've got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark, and we're wearing sunglasses.

    Jake: Hit it.

  • What kind of Pontiac did you buy? Better been good for buying into this communist scheme.

  • You have waaay too much time on your hands. Classic.
