I've been looking for this song since the 90's. I thought it was S.Perry. Tried Journey, no luck. Finally, great band members when journey used to be GREAT!
I've been looking for this song since the 80's. I thought it was S.Perry. Tried Journey, no luck. Finally, great band members when journey used to be GREAT!
@JourneyAlwaysRocks, Thanks for the correction. I did not mean any disrespect to Steve Perry, he is definitely one of the greatest singers in music history. Gregg Rolie wrote a good portion of the lyrics for Journey and when he left that was hindered just a bit. I'm sure he did the same with the Storm, in fact he wrote/sang 'Call me', one of the tracks from this album. Jonathan Cain is definitely a great keyboardist. I'm glad Journey found a good singer in Arnel Pineda, great story and voice.
This was one the only two bands to sound as great as Journey in the 1990s when there was no Journey lineup touring. The other was Bad English. Both had their roots from Journey. Gregg Rolie in this band and Neal/Jonathan in Bad English. Glad this can still be played. Wish there were more videos of this band. Thanks to THE STORM for keeping the music alive in the 1990s.
@bonovox1970ify Gregg Rolie left Journey because he did not like touring as much as they were. He wanted more time for his family. Gregg picked Jonathan Cain as his replacement. You would know this had you seen Behind The Music: Journey on VH1 or VH1 Classic. Gregg Rolie's parts are now done very well by Jonathan Cain in concert. So Gregg's duets live on. I have had the pleasure of meeting Gregg Rolie in his band's concerts. He lives on and is still doing the Santana hits & more.
mbcrra says they copied a 70's band from Seville, yeah try to buy a web sight name and see how many people own it, the storm that performed in the 80's with kevin chalfant as vocals was completely original and one of 1,000's of groups that knew great music, and here we are 30 years later making that very point, and do you know what the difference is..... Kevin Chalfant is still recording music, I love Led Zeppelin and Scorpions, but they quit long ago.. ha ha
scorpions are still making music... i think that 2 years ago they put out an album and they are making a new one and i believe that album will be the last one..
WOW!!! they copied the name of the band! The real "The Storm" was a 70's band from Sevilla (Spain)... they played with Queen! If they were born in U.K. or the U.S.A. they would be unforgettable, as Zeppelin, Scorpions, Purple, etc, etc...
I picked this album up in a or at a swap meet in Detroit right around the timeit was released. Loved it then, love it now. good stuff. Nice and simple, easy going. brings back memories , and that's what good songs do.
What I would like to know is, Why isn't Steve Smith from Journey playing the drums in this video. There are 3 members from Journey in this band. Greg Rollie (Keyboards), Ross Valory (Bass), Steve Smith (Drums). Maybe Steve didn't want to be in the video, or maybe it is Steve with a wig? Oh, well this is still on hell of an album.
perryzgal its john schenk if you want to see kevin and judy just call them you have kevins numbers.judy always asks about your health and i dont know what to say kevin told me 8 years ago and said stay out so i did and i will contnue to do so!!!i got rid of mark years ago and then was asked to be the music director for a major military charity im going to the middle east for the super bowl.good luck and thanks for all that youve done in the past to get me where im at.john
It's weird for me watching Kevin in videos. I still remember him on stage playing in bars before he headed out to CA. He sounded awesome then and still does now.
A Lot Of People Have Forgot About This Great Band And Did Not Know They Were A Journey Related Rock Band .They Released Two CD's The Storm And Eye Of The Storm .Kevin Chalfant, Gregg Rolie,Ross Valory,Josh Ramos,Steve Smith Was The Members With Ron Wisko Replacing Steve Smith On The Second CD !!!
This band was absolutely fantastic, hell of a good song... such a shame the new line up for Journey didn't include Kevin Chalfant, their new guy sounds HORRIBLE.
damn! is it just me or deja vu. First time to hear this song, i think i heard it before but i cant put my fingers on it. any way thanks for the post enjoyed it and hearing good songs like this bring back good memories.
Although Steve was the drummer for the Storm debut album, he dropped out of the band and was replaced by Ron Wisko who later was the drummer on the second Storm album. So although Steve is the drummer on "Show Me The Way", the video shows Ron Wisko.
Wow. This is a really great song; and video. Lead singer's voice is amazing; Haven't heard one like his since Steve Perry! I have never heard Christian music in *this* style ever! Thanks a lot!!
The drummer is Ron Wisko a great session drummer who has worked for Cher, David Lee Roth, to name a few. Kevin Chalfant should have been Journey's new vox but Hey, who wants to play casinos and state fairs for the next 10 years anyway. Sour grapes? You bet!! Signed, C.Chalfant.
I do think Journey could have sounded really good with him. Anybody have video or even audio of that one off show they did in 93 (I think it was 93 anyway)
I love this song.Every night i have this some dream.now i have you here by me.I can't let you go.I need for you to stay.Show me the way to your heart. And you know what to do.show me the way.
Kevin Chalfant is great solo and in The Storm but I do think he shredded 707 and Shooting Star's reputations by making them sound like Journey wanna-bes. 707 had a nice Elton John/Loverboy mix style and Shooting Star was great hard rock till he came along.
The problem is Chalfant or not, those bands (707, Steel Breeze, Shooting Star) had trouble getting the record deals/exposure necessary to keep going. Kevin was great in the Storm because of the talent around him. While the other bands have their fans, and rightly so, the Storm lineup was practically Journey, and Journey has had the success and staying power that those other bands never had.
The Storm was comprised mostly of founding Journey members. Kevin Chalfant was indeed a lead singer for Journey when they reunited on tour back in the early 2k's I saw them live at the Bloomsburg Town Fair and he indeed is an amazing singer of Steve Perry caliber.
Wrong. Steve Augeri (ex-Tall Stories) was Journey's lead singer from 1998 to 2006. Jeff Scott Soto briefly held the official lead vocals spot from 2006-2007. These are the only two singers to be the official lead singer for Journey since Steve Perry. Chalfant did perform at a benefit show with Journey in the early 90s.
@Calbear94 Jeff Scott Soto? Isn't he the Idol contestant that starred in that rock opera that covered 80's arena rock like Journey, REO, Styx & Boston?
dude - years ago I´ve heard this bombastic ballad... don´t know how many times in a row - day by day ... - And it´s still one of the best of the best - ever !
