It's funny, though I have been saying the same about RIM and a few of those who have left BlackBerry to go elsewhere been switching back to it. It's a messaging tool some can't let go. I guess the switch from iPhone back to BlackBerry is a strange one for many of us. By the way, if you are Android coming from BlackBerry my article "From CrackBerry addiction to Android: My Transition" on Android Authority, explains about SwiftKey - use it if you are having trouble going to touch screen from BB.
As always, Gary, great content. You're right about people not caring about the device. I started my Jim's Jems newsletter on paper in 1991. I'm still here. Could care less about devices. It's communication we're doing, not selling widgets. Going to work now on my personal development box:-)
BTW, the cut away camera is distracting. You either need someone to direct you to look to it or just lose it altogether. NIce tie though:-)
Assuming you're going to tell us if any of these folks are paying you to talk them up?
Transparency is key.
Since you critiqued wine as a retailer, are you getting paid to critique media platforms by media companies?
I ask because you make it sound as if RIM cannot move beyond Blackberry. They're a huge company that can come out with newer, more relevant models of the Blackberry.
So for you to announce their doom and gloom seems naive at best.
@winewanker I would always mention if I am paid to talk up and publicly always come out with my investments, I am not involved in Pinterest, 4S or RIM and I just think RIM is in trouble
I think Gary is spot-on with his predictions except for foursquare. I've used it, yet in the end, really don't care about it. It's a throwaway product, IMHO.
Very good info and predictions. I especially agree with the pinterest prediction. I love this application and think it is not only fun on a personal level but can see many uses for businesses as well. I also like your suit!.......and no profanity! GOOD JOB.
Great predictions and it will be intersting to see which ones are right. It will be huge news for businesses if RIM goes down with the established network. Though I see them getting out of hardware and ramping up their enterprise network.
Appreciate your insights being shared...always refreshing to hear from an expert who is actually doing it for his own business! If I can ever be of help in some way, please let me know. btw - nice photo on twitter of your daughter with the bagel. Nothing like NY bagels. Nothing! Have a blessed New Year!

Also, I agree on Pinterest, but they need to invest in their infrastructure. The site bogs way too often.

I predict that only 50% of the protections have a 60% accuracy to happen in 2012.

Twitter - 75% chance of IPO, likely.
FB/Instagram - 50-50. 75% chance that someone will get them, not FB for certain.
RIM -RIP 100%. Since the moment in 2011 when their stock broke down from upswing due to RIM tablet fail. They'll admit it in 2012.
Pinterest -Meh. 50-50. Nothing there.
Foursquare - No. Forever niche. 100% no.
Boxes - you may be onto something, 90%.
