Táim as éireann agus i mo thuairim féin aontím leis jojojo097, ó nDún Déalgan! Is teanga mór é Fraincís agus Spáiniss so beidh seans mór bhí taithí ag an múinteoirt nó an dálta!
i'm from dundalk co. louth & i went to school for 14 years all in irish but 4 years in the us has made me for get a bit but i don't know if i can trust a yank about ireland has he ever set foot in ireland i don't know so i am sorry but this is bull shit!
Interesting view. So if a person has never been to France, he or she won't be able to learn French or teach it? I speak fluent Spanish but I've never been to Spain. Please explain what you mean.
@caemgen51 Thank you for posting this I have been struggling to learn my ancestral language. I'll be watching all of your videos. To the guy above, consider that there are 36 million Irish decedents in the US that's more than all of Ireland. To bad you don't have anything to contribute other than negativity. At least some of us are working to help keep a dead language alive. But it's okay if a Yank teaches me Irish, better than nothing. Thanks for the bullshit, I'll use it to fertilize my mind.
jojojo - There's a lot one can learn from a non-native teacher, because he/she knows the challenges non-natives face learning a language. Plus, Irish is actually a second language for most people teaching and learning it in Ireland nowadays, so why should you hold us "yanks" to a different standard? At least he's making a considerable effort to keep it alive and pass it on, while you've taken it for granted to the point you've gone and forgotten it. Talk about bullshit.
Heard some one in the backround mention Nova Scotia... there is still a small number of ppl in a community who speak Scottish Gaelic. They to my memory have a radio station as well.
Yes, and a great music scene up the as well. I've never been but I want to go there for the summer music festivals. Cape Breton is unmatched as far as fiddle playing goes and we all know that's due to a strong connection with the Gaelic language they still have up there. Unfortunately many musicians in Ireland have lost that link to the language.
