“Well, we don’t go back and look at previous administrations, and try them for crimes. That is a, that is the ultimate in the ‘Bush derangement syndome,’ uh, which I believe any, any person who thinks through it will recognize that it would be a total disaster.”
As I reflect upon American crimes against humanity today, in places like Gitmo & Abu Ghraib prison, it is no surprise that America is forever destined to carry the sign of Cain for the Hiroshima & Nagasaki bombings!
The longest America has gone without bombing someone is 2 years; America simply used the Nuremberg show-trials to hide itself in a haze of moral superlatives!
This nut is a prime example of why the Republican Party needs to take a step back and reorganize. He's so full of psycho-babble bullshit. How did this WEIRDO even get elected? Thank God he doesnt represent me!
The only thing Bond "represents" is something that survived an abortion by crawling out of the bucket. Now the good news, 'Kit' has announced that he won't be running come 2010! Oh Missourians... you got some splaining to do.
I feel anyone who wants to make the case that waterboarding isnt torture should volunteer to be waterboarded for awhile. If they still fee it wasnt torture i can respect that.Without that they are just fools
about the guys last statement: I think its horrible to automatically pardon previous administrations for their blatant crimes, such as the Bush admin, or the dems in congress saying that it's futile to try to impeach Bush cause it would ruin their chances for the white house. Congress is filled with spineless bureaucrats that need to do their jobs & prosecute crimes high crimes at the highest levels. Somehow these criminals can just skate off unscathed is just deplorable.
Check out Kit Bond (R) at 6:20 in the video when he's about to shit his pants with fear. He's arguing to keep HIMSELF out of jail for knowledge of illegal torture.
"We don't go back... to try people for crimes." Ha Ha!
It sure looks like he was fully aware of what was going on, and he was the one with "Bush derangement syndrome."
Matthews doesn't care how false this is - he could have easily challenged this lying politician. This is straight-up scare-mongering. The fact Matt doesn't challenge these absolutely false and misleading statements tells us a lot. i can't believe these guys - fascism and war for corporate warfare. How do we like the feeling of that boot stomping across the faces of humanity?
"Just in case they escape" does he think that Cubans want them there? And if the're not caught in an enemy uniform, then they should be tried as any civilian. Still, it's not a bad idea to fill Alcatraz with those legally found guilty. Sad such an idiot represents the state my grandfather came from - Pierce City!
I've known for years that this guy is a doofus, but my jaw dropped yesterday when I watched this segment for too many reasons to list here. My big question for the day is why didn't Chris Matthews challenge Bond on the "more than 60 people..." comment 0:32. Give us names, dates, places, actions! Read Media Matters: mediamatters[DOT]org/items/200901230002?f=h_popular Thanks heathr456 for posting this video.
It's well known that most people, including innocent people, would confess to anything when tortured, making the confession unreliable. I know I would confess to anything they want to hear, if I was tortured. What about you?
this whole we water board our own soldiers, how can it be torture line is so ridiculous! doesn't the army do this to prepare the soldiers for torture? shouldn't they instead say lets stop water boarding our own soldiers?
And the fact the soldiers can shout a prearranged code word to abort the training at any time.
I cant believe how scared republicans are, they are terrified of terrorists. Ramzi Yusuf is an Al qaida operative who passed though the justice systems and is now safely locked up.

those marines are exposed to torture so they can resist it when it is used by enemies.

We have more than a "MORAL" obligation to provide hearing - we have a LEGAL obligation to do so.

Bingo!! It's their excuse to say it's not torture when they know full well it is since we've prosecuted others for doing it in the past.
