This game was not only KICK ASS (because it's very similar to symphony of the night) but also because it was.... I don't know, the whole story, the castle, Juste. It's a fucking cool game.
I really am an obsessive fan of Circle of the Moon and I've been playing and replaying it since I was 7, but even I have to admit this is so much better than anything from there.
@Saryakan I think they're ok, but this is probably the only one that I can legitimately say that I like. I thought that, overall, the best GBA Castlevania was Circle of the Moon. Most of it's music was remixed old stuff, but it was really well done. Add on to the fact that it was easily the most challenging one, and I'd be fooling myself to say it isn't my favorite GBA Castlevania, and one of my favorites overall.
I dunno, CotM was limited too much by technology. It kinda became too repetitive for me.
But it was the most challenging one after HoD, I give you that. On the other Hand did I require EXP farming in some Parts or I would never be able to get through certain areas. (Damn you Area before Camilla) But that is me and my crappy skills. XD

The team responsible for HoD had never programmed for the GBA before and thus used the built in Gameboy sound system (there for backwards compatibility) instead of the GBA system. Yes. When battling Maxim in the Evil Castle (Castle B), you need to have all six of Dracula's relics (else the door to Maxim won't open); you also have to have both JB's Bracelet and Maxim's Bracelet equipped. Once you defeat Maxim, Dracula's relics will arise and form the final boss (who is pathetically easy).

no, that's just the shitty ending. to get the good ending you have to collect dracula's relics and fight him at the end... use a walkthrough to get the info
For Me Juste had a cool-laid-back-but-thinking-about-his-friends kind of attitude, which I feel was very cool. He looked like you could've asked the guy about Dracula ( this is before his adventure ), and he woulda been like " Pfft, the fuck is that? "

It's interesting that the first songs in these games are typically some of the best and most memorable. I guess that means the composers are doing their jobs right.
@boredtaco It wasn't as good as Aria or Circle, but it still was great. What I didn't like about this game was the lack of save points in areas of the game.
It was the only good song from this game, sadly. But, that didn't stop me from playing it all the way through several times. I was always sad to leave the first area, though, for the lose of hearing Juste's theme play there.
I don't mind the quality of the song- the melody is still there and still sounds damn good. Shame the other music of the game fares worse from the compression.

Such Nostalgia. Harmony is one my favorites of the titles. i believe that in harmony, draculas castle was more gloomy then the others in past titles. and the "dissonant" music helped fuel that feeling.

Thier taking a whole new look. away from the Elegance into the classic Armor clad warrior look. the main character is shown wielding a whip, and other familair weapons. apparantly his name is Gabriel. it looks pretty phenomenal. You can watch the Trailer...which i can send to you somehow...
don't forget along with Lord of Shadows is Castlevania Next Gen (SotN2)....IGA just said that CVNG isn't canned and it will be shown at the Tokyo Game Show 2009
@devilbelmont I personally prefer the theme that plays at the "select game" menu, I find it really catchy... Speaking of, why can't I find it anywhere!?

Belmonts are descendants of their worst enemy : Dracula.
However, the reason Juste has that psycho-mysterious look on his face is probably due to the fact his mother was a witch. Sypha, I believe.

Absolutely! Circle of the Moon too. Aria of Sorrow was the opposite though. It felt very hopeful and carefree. Still, gloom is always good!
