After reading the first few comments, I conclude that people are stupid. If they can only understand that being able to play DOOM is basically like wololo showing off his trophy of beaten the most entertaining game that SONY can offer. @frwololo i agree. but the one thing i noticed about content transfer (from pc to vita or ps3 to vita) is that is takes a while. compared to the psp still by far getter. this goes also for remote play, have had the remote play tested on the psp and there had been some sort of lag somewhere the vita on the other hand has the hardware to take it.

@bored464 This hack is perfectly safe and sanboxed in the psp emulator, there is no risk of brick, and I tested my work extensively on a psp beforehand. Bottom line, I know what I'm doing.
And you're right, I also have 3 hacked PSPs, but that's a prerequisite for most Sony devices to be usable in my opinion.

yes but the PSP didnt require online to put stuff onto your Device. you need to have the latest Firmware to use the Back up manager (so i hear) and in order to use the playstation store or download DLC and play online you need the latest firmware
I would rather have DLC that unlock games to be able to use Multiplayer etc etc than get free games and now a days i can afford to buy games.
@andresfuba I actually live in Japan so it's not an import, and yes, I think hacking is cool. It's in general much more challenging than actual video games... but it requires a brain :)
@andresfuba the reason i bought a psp was so i could follow instructions to crack it and get my back catalogue of ps1 games put on there to play on the go, i'm holding out that another genius can crack the vita so i can get my ps2 games put on it (fingers crossed for the future). I don't condone taking content that you didn't pay for but I wholly support the work these guys do to get the consoles to play games you already may own. So yeah I think hacking is pretty cool too.

yea but also the PSP was the first handheld and they didnt think it would be hacked. also firmware 1.00 and 1.50 were the first 2 which had just about nothing on it but to play games and music.
IMO i hope the Vita never gets hacked because if i want to play emulators ill either play the ones that work on my PSP or play them on my laptop with a nice full screen. i dont want the vita to go through what the PSP did in the United States. Nearly killed it

I am pretty sure the Vita can but this Homebrew loader is for the PSP emulator on the vita. and because its a PSP emulator it only gets the Power of a psp. so if it lags on the PSP itslef it will lag on HBL on PS Vita (unless they make one for the Vitas side)
if it's powerful enough to run a dreamcast emulator at fast speed i might consider it.. we still dont know the clockspeeds of each core, i'm hoping at least 250-300mhz but im betting it will probably be something lame like 200mhz per core.

@TheGameSheet the modern doom engines you can look up and down but i like the way it was with the control (well not basic control at least use WSAD to move and arrows to turn)
in doom you auto shoot up and down so theirs no need to aims just point and shoot

Doom popularized the FPS genre and made it what it is today also here's a Fun Fact did you know the best selling game in history "Call of Duty's" Engine is based off and created from an Engine ID Software created.

If anything, the best FPS ever made is Battlefield 2. On the basis of this one did this, and that one did that. Both Duke Nukem and Doom deserve a lot of credit for popularizing the FPS genere for what it is now. Everyone knows what Doom is and everyone knows who Duke Nukem is. Doom was more influential than Duke Nukem. But, Duke Nukem and Doom are just as popular.

yes but the PSP didnt require online to put stuff onto your Device. you need to have the latest Firmware to use the Back up manager (so i hear) and in order to use the playstation store or download DLC and play online you need the latest firmware
I would rather have DLC that unlock games to be able to use Multiplayer etc etc than get free games and now a days i can afford to buy games.

@andresfuba I actually live in Japan so it's not an import, and yes, I think hacking is cool. It's in general much more challenging than actual video games... but it requires a brain :)

@andresfuba the reason i bought a psp was so i could follow instructions to crack it and get my back catalogue of ps1 games put on there to play on the go, i'm holding out that another genius can crack the vita so i can get my ps2 games put on it (fingers crossed for the future). I don't condone taking content that you didn't pay for but I wholly support the work these guys do to get the consoles to play games you already may own. So yeah I think hacking is pretty cool too.

yea but also the PSP was the first handheld and they didnt think it would be hacked. also firmware 1.00 and 1.50 were the first 2 which had just about nothing on it but to play games and music.
IMO i hope the Vita never gets hacked because if i want to play emulators ill either play the ones that work on my PSP or play them on my laptop with a nice full screen. i dont want the vita to go through what the PSP did in the United States. Nearly killed it

I am pretty sure the Vita can but this Homebrew loader is for the PSP emulator on the vita. and because its a PSP emulator it only gets the Power of a psp. so if it lags on the PSP itslef it will lag on HBL on PS Vita (unless they make one for the Vitas side)

if it's powerful enough to run a dreamcast emulator at fast speed i might consider it.. we still dont know the clockspeeds of each core, i'm hoping at least 250-300mhz but im betting it will probably be something lame like 200mhz per core.

@TheGameSheet the modern doom engines you can look up and down but i like the way it was with the control (well not basic control at least use WSAD to move and arrows to turn)

Doom popularized the FPS genre and made it what it is today also here's a Fun Fact did you know the best selling game in history "Call of Duty's" Engine is based off and created from an Engine ID Software created.

If anything, the best FPS ever made is Battlefield 2. Not taking anything away from Doom, but saying it's the best ever made because it was the first takes a lot away from other better put together games.

If you're looking at it for what it is and then people can see how highly overrated it is. Doom created the genere but Battlefield 2 raised the bar with a game that was far ahead of its time. Doom was pretty ahead of its time too, but what Doom made. Battlefield 2 took and made it better.

But, what it is isn't amazing if you look at other titles such as Duke Nukem. I'm not taking anything away from Doom, I'm just being realistic about what plays better. And, in that idea, Duke Nukem plays better than Doom.

On the basis of this one did this, and that one did that. Both Duke Nukem and Doom deserve a lot of credit for popularizing the FPS genere for what it is now. Everyone knows what Doom is and everyone knows who Duke Nukem is. Doom was more influential than Duke Nukem. But, Duke Nukem and Doom are just as popular.
