I thought KH2 Sephiroth was harder because you couldn't re-challenge him to find his weaknesses or patterns; you had to go through deaths to figure him out.
I personally think the KH1 version is harder. I beated him at like lvl 65-70 (don't remember right now), but had the ultimate equips. You almost died because you wanted cause you'd hit him when he was casting the Sin Heartless Angel attack
Though arguably both are equally hard if the player actually imposes a challenge on themselves, since in RPGs difficulty is inversely related to player's level. I fought Sephiroth at level 54 in KH1, so it was much harder for me. Almost OHKO on every attack.
Sora is just stronger, making Sepphy easier by relation. Also lol @ "both are easy" responses. ITT twelve year olds bragging about how good they are at Kingdom Hearts, while failing to address the question.

I don't think it is a fair comparison to say which one is the hardest.
Its like comparing 9/16 and 4/10 : Unless you put them on the same denominator, you can't compare them. Same logic applies here: we can't compare unless we are talking about the exact same battle system with the exact same abilities which isn't the case
well you had to look at both sides. Kh1 you had that horrible camera system and sephys moves were complete fucking random. kh2 you can predict whats going to happen.
kh1 sephiorth was way harder..you couldnt touch him if you were under level 70...kh1 was a way harder game than kh2 in general...soras way overpowered in kh2...in kh1 he couldnt do half the shit he could in kh2 he just had basic magics and there were really no combos you could link together or active moves with triangle
From what I've seen Sephiroth in KH2 is stronger than KH1. And when I fought Sephiroth KH2 I didn't spam reflega. I only used it to get rid of the orbs but didn't use it like some people when sephiroth did his fire tower crap. Maybe it just depends on the person and how they play.
I believe Sephiroth was stronger in the first one. First of all the Camera is better in KH2, i can see the fuck very well. Also KH2 sephy has more room to move around in. In the first one, you're restricted to a smaller area. I think another good reason is that in KH1 you had to reach a much higher level to deal with him. I've seen people below lvl 70 from different videos beating sephiroth. So far all ive seen is lvl 71 on kh1 unless someone can direct me to another video.
yea gotta agree with the trend kh2 sephy is easyier for a few reasons: 1st being kh1 sephy teles after 4 hits 2nd is he gets way faster than you in his last form and 3rd :SORA IS WAY MORE BADASS IN KH2 (in short you can actually move at the same speed as final fantasy characters and block their attacks)

a lower level glide is probably as "slow" as is KH1 i think level 2 is just as good. and also in KH1 there is this one quick glide - i actually forgot the name - sorry. and high jump level 1 is acceptable too
@dixtremo in kingdom hearts he was ridiculous. in kingdom hearts 2 he was almost just like a regular boss. with that said i did have the ultima weapon and was like level 80 when i fought him.
personally i think kh1 seph. is easier, mainly cus the easiest way to beat him was spamming ars arcanum or strike raid (strike raid DEFINITELY), while there isnt too much to learn from his combos nor does he have many, here he has many more combos a move u need to use a reaction command for and there arent (limit?) type moves to save u (i kno trinity limit/"break" is a limit, but compared to SR and AA, is it good enough?) KH1 cure dnt burn thru mp like in this game (curaga takes up whole meter)
I have to disagree, I thought he was harder in KH1 because his hits took away half of my health. The orb attack and the sin harvest attack was harder to predict in KH1 in my opinion. But you made some very good points.

Hell they even said that when they released the game, it was to show his new abilities off. Sora in this game was the same age riku was in the first and you can see that riku was more athletic than Sora, this game basically shows that off.

Kingdom hearts 1 was Alot harder, think about it, kingdom hearts 1 animation style was like u had to find a certain pattern and not get knocked back by thier attacks so much since u didnt fly around like a retarded bird so much in the last. And the last Kingdom hearts had a much Challenging feel to almost everything. The camera angles got fixed but makes players seem like tiny soldiers in this game.
kh1 is harder cuz strike raid made u invinclble for a small while. but timed wrong and ur screwed. also u had to land like 4oo hits to start his bar going down
Kingdom Hearts 1; All youu need is a load of Elixirs & Ars Arcanum &(Or) Strike raid. You'll get to know his moves easily & be able to counter his strongest attack, Sin Harvest pretty easily tbh.
Kingdom Hearts 2; With the new abilities in Kingdom hearts 2, Sephiroth was easy-ish. Once you've attempted him a couple of times you'll know him like a book. Every move he does you'll be able to counter or at least defend.
honestly i think he's harder in kh 1 because the second one is alot of commands and yes its a struggle beatin him in this one but its 10 times harder in number 1 haah thats my opinion

Sephiroth is easier in KH2, because of several factors. The first and most important being sora's extra abilities, and the second being his inferior AI, at least to the Final Mix version of KH1's Sephiroth.

Sephiroth from KH 1 is harder and no flexwhitted not because Sora can't do half of the stuff that he does now. That's no excuse Sephiroth is challengeing but he is also a pushover why? U will get crushed by him in KH 1 in like 20 seconds if you don't know what your doing obviously. In the second one just push triangle and level up to 88 and use about 6 items whether there megapotion's or megaexlir's you should be fine.
he is totally harder in i barely beat when i was a lv 77 in kh2 i beat him 3 times once on 64 once on 71 and once on lv 100 i beat him in about 1 min on lv 100 ultima weapon
i think hes harder on kh2 cause i beat him around level 65 when i beat him on kh1 i was around 80 when i beat him on kh2 his moves were easier to dodge and block especially in his first form
Obviously he's harder in part one because Sora can't do half of the stuff that he does now. In part one, you definitely had to have certain items equipped and you had to be above a certain level just to even make it past the 1st 20 seconds of battle. After that, YOU had to create YOUR OWN strategy. Where as on part 2 the strategy is already in place by pushing triangle.
KH2 Sephiroth is hard until you level up drive form abilities and equip them to Sora. Then he's a joke except in damage. Meanwhile in KH1 Sephiroth is extremely hard until the high 60s. Then he's easier than KH2 Sephiroth by level 100.
I played countless FF boss's and I would always get mad because I could never win, or if I did when then it would take about a couple of months. But for Sephiroth, he's the first out of them all that I haven't gotten mad at. Maybe it's because I already know that he's super stronge in both the first and second KH. But in Dissidia he was EASY to beat. I mean, it only took me once to defeat him and usually it takes me more than 10. that part in Dissidia was sort of a joke for someone like him.
Sorry, but this is totally unscientific. The reason why Sephiroth was made this way was for this game. The exact reason why he spams orbs is because he expects you to use reflect. Also, i don't see him spam sin heartless angel like he did in the original. he used it, twice. When i played seph in KH1, i counted 6 times he used it. two almost one right after another.
to me kh1 sephiroth was harder in kh1 he moved more faster and his blows took a lot of hp not like kh2 he would have to do a combo to deplet your hp and his super nova attack in kh1 was harder to dodge than kh2
I don't think this is a practical way to judge the difficulty of each. I treat the games separately, and judge each with the resources given to me by each game. I think that even without Reflega spamming in the second game, KH1 Sephiroth is harder, just because he moves so much more, and is a little less predictable, and his attacks are harder to guard, and finally because you can't hit him too much at a time. I feel like guarding is too easy in KH2, the stage you're in is a bit too small.
They probably added the MP bar to keep sure that people don't cure spam like they did in kh1. But they unfortunatley made Reflect to powerful so you could reflega spam. Well new people to the fight could i personally don't.
@svrgm In one or two moments of the fight, he would have automatically died if he hadn't used the reaction command, since Sephiroth used his Sin Harvest attack and brought his health down to 1. There's no other way to defend yourself against that attack. It's needed.

well it was the first time they ventured into making a fighting game in a while i mean ergheiz which i actually still have a copy of and the bouncer which is more of a beat em up but then agian t hats more square and lacking the enix but anyway ya it wouldve been wiser to put on the home consoles and added online play with a more complex fighting system+better graphics

You're right. I mean, the game is awesome and all but...the storyline for each character isn't really a storyline to me. It's more like fight, fight, fight, fight then a bit of story, then fight, fight, fight again. The controls are basic and the fighting is too. But, I still like it and I'm not planning on selling it anytime soon. But when I first played it, the whole chess thing, make your move or you'll run out of DP is nice. It's like you're playing an awesome game of anime chess.^_^
I think the only game that I would get my ass kicked on by Sephiroth is Kingdom Hearts...for Dissidia...I always kick his butt, weither its with Cloud, Onion Boy, Monkey Boy, Tidus, Kuja, or even Terra...lol...it's fun though!

If you weren't doing the same sort of thing as KH1, then you could have used Glide or something. And or kept using Elixir before Sehpy was in the sky and turned all red and what not....still, he's amazing to go against though. I'm suprised that I didn't get mad when I got defeated by him so many times. I just laughed and thought that I was asleep and getting my ass kicked by him. Lol. But, it's fun either way.

i think that the kh2 sephiroth is harder in the sense that hes more powerful and has more hp but sora is also WAY more powerful than in kh1 and can easily beat sephiroth in kh2 . so while sephiroth in kh2 is more powerful than in kh1 hes also eaiser to defeat
i played a very similar game to yours. i didn't know about leveling up the forms so i never knew glide or high jump was even possible. nor did i know that reflect could reflect the orbs, so i hit them. i was relative low leveled when i fought him though. took me 28 times before i beat the guy.

The debate of in which game is Sephiroth harder is really a dumb one, because it just really depends on your style.
In KH1 I can easily dispatch Sephy without items.
In Kh2 I can beat Sephy also without items but it's harder.
It really depends on the move you depend too, in KH1 I depended to much in Aero and his moves. Which made it easier.
In KH2 I don't depend on reflega nor limits, which makes it harder.

Kingdom Hearts 1; All youu need is a load of Elixirs & Ars Arcanum &(Or) Strike raid. You'll get to know his moves easily & be able to counter his strongest attack, Sin Harvest pretty easily tbh.
Kingdom Hearts 2; With the new abilities in Kingdom hearts 2, Sephiroth was easy-ish. Once you've attempted him a couple of times you'll know him like a book. Every move he does you'll be able to counter or at least defend.

Sephiroth is easier in KH2, because of several factors. The first and most important being sora's extra abilities, and the second being his inferior AI, at least to the Final Mix version of KH1's Sephiroth.

I don't think I could compare the difficulties considering they were both not much of a challenge. Sephiroth from KH 1 is harder and no flexwhitted not because Sora can't do half of the stuff that he does now. That's no excuse Sephiroth is challengeing but he is also a pushover why? U will get crushed by him in KH 1 in like 20 seconds if you don't know what your doing obviously. In the second one just push triangle and level up to 88 and use about 6 items whether there megapotion's or megaexlir's you should be fine.

Obviously he's harder in part one because Sora can't do half of the stuff that he does now. In part one, you definitely had to have certain items equipped and you had to be above a certain level just to even make it past the 1st 20 seconds of battle. After that, YOU had to create YOUR OWN strategy. Where as on part 2 the strategy is already in place by pushing triangle.

KH2 Sephiroth is hard until you level up drive form abilities and equip them to Sora. Then he's a joke except in damage. Meanwhile in KH1 Sephiroth is extremely hard until the high 60s. Then he's easier than KH2 Sephiroth by level 100.

I played countless FF boss's and I would always get mad because I could never win, or if I did when then it would take about a couple of months. But for Sephiroth, he's the first out of them all that I haven't gotten mad at. Maybe it's because I already know that he's super stronge in both the first and second KH. But in Dissidia he was EASY to beat. I mean, it only took me once to defeat him and usually it takes me more than 10. that part in Dissidia was sort of a joke for someone like him.

Sorry, but this is totally unscientific. The reason why Sephiroth was made this way was for this game. The exact reason why he spams orbs is because he expects you to use reflect. Also, i don't see him spam sin heartless angel like he did in the original. he used it, twice. When i played seph in KH1, i counted 6 times he used it. two almost one right after another.

I don't think this is a practical way to judge the difficulty of each. I treat the games separately, and judge each with the resources given to me by each game. I think that even without Reflega spamming in the second game, KH1 Sephiroth is harder, just because he moves so much more, and is a little less predictable, and his attacks are harder to guard, and finally because you can't hit him too much at a time. I feel like guarding is too easy in KH2, the stage you're in is a bit too small.

They probably added the MP bar to keep sure that people don't cure spam like they did in kh1. But they unfortunatley made Reflect to powerful so you could reflega spam. Well new people to the fight could i personally don't.

@svrgm In one or two moments of the fight, he would have automatically died if he hadn't used the reaction command, since Sephiroth used his Sin Harvest attack and brought his health down to 1. There's no other way to defend yourself against that attack. It's needed.

You're right. I mean, the game is awesome and all but...the storyline for each character isn't really a storyline to me. It's more like fight, fight, fight, fight then a bit of story, then fight, fight, fight again. The controls are basic and the fighting is too. But, I still like it and I'm not planning on selling it anytime soon. But when I first played it, the whole chess thing, make your move or you'll run out of DP is nice. It's like you're playing an awesome game of anime chess.^_^

I've never once lost to Sephiroth as Cloud, but that might be because Cloud is my best dueling character.
In Dissidia, if you want rape, I suggest Terra, from my fave FF.

If you weren't doing the same sort of thing as KH1, then you could have used Glide or something. And or kept using Elixir before Sehpy was in the sky and turned all red and what not....still, he's amazing to go against though. I'm suprised that I didn't get mad when I got defeated by him so many times. I just laughed and thought that I was asleep and getting my ass kicked by him. Lol. But, it's fun either way.

i played a very similar game to yours. i didn't know about leveling up the forms so i never knew glide or high jump was even possible. nor did i know that reflect could reflect the orbs, so i hit them. i was relative low leveled when i fought him though. took me 28 times before i beat the guy.
