For example: Chimps have a photographic memory that we lost along the way whenever we developed complex spoken language. Perhaps (with our guided help), chimps may be able to develop complex spoken language, and still keep their photographic memory.
Having the imagination to dream up religions as explanations of our origins as a species takes quite a bit more intelligence than chimps have.

the thing is that unless I'm wrong I think pigs, dogs and horses are probably over 90% sharing their DNA with primates and the last few percent makes all the difference. It's not like jellyfish, shrimps, mushrooms and oak trees although I bet we've about 10-20% in common with shrimps haha!

obviously most people have no grasp of genetics and how crucial that point six percent is in the make up of the genome as a whole. we share a lot of genes i'm not sure of the percentage but i think its above 30 to 40 percent does that make me part fly, i don't think so.

Before you make silly comments, I suggest you back to read up on 9th grade science. 99.4% refers to the similarity between DNA construction of a chimp and a human. DNA construction is nor a direct correlation to intelligence.
Though comparatively to other animals, chimps are more human-like than any other. There have been studies that show chimps war amongst their own and are capable of using basic tools in order to fight.

The only reason I believe we developed a larger brain was because a genetic mutation gave us a smaller jaw, allowing more energy to be put in developing the brain. We came from common ancestors, and those ancestors came from what we call now days Chimps. Even your father or mother do not have your 100% DNA, each parent carries a 99.0% or 99.9% of your DNA.
It depends how you want to think about it. You could be a person who simply puts everything to groups just by their names or classes, For example: "No, its not an MP3 player, its an Ipod". Or you could think of it more by general structure and system, "It plays music, its the same thing." But chimps are very human-like in many ways, but I think the reason people do not agree on this is becuase of brain structure or just the general shape and layout of a chimp. Now I don't know if it's really 99.4%; I think today it's considered a bit less, but the similarity IS in fact enourmous for all I know. But much of the similarity is in the non-coding dna, i.e. the dna that is either junk or serves some purpose other than making proteins. The parts that build ours or the chimps' bodies are not 99% similar, obviously.

Why don't animals have "family" reunions? Animal "packs" such as Lions Wolves Chimps, etc, that are together from birth hang out and "appear" to have a "hierarchy" structure where everyone knows who the boss is, and your in the family till death or till someone takes over the "top alpha". Yet all other animals without "packs" but live isolated, that send off there young, don't ever "hook up" again later.

We are not like chimps in my opinion. We have introspection and ways to identify needs in "unnatural" processes to survive in various environments. In literal terms though, we share very similar traits, obviously every living thing that carries blood to maintain functions have a common design. In contrast, we have more complex characteristics and emotions I believe.

With the results coming in from the Human Genome Project, we find that there is as much as a 15% difference just between the races of humans.
That puts the actual percentage between humans and chimps are a much larger percentage of difference than previously GUESSED.

Before you make silly comments, I suggest you back to read up on 9th grade science. 99.4% refers to the similarity between DNA construction of a chimp and a human. DNA construction is nor a direct correlation to intelligence.
Though comparatively to other animals, chimps are more human-like than any other. There have been studies that show chimps war amongst their own and are capable of using basic tools in order to fight.

Not true, chimps use tools and work together. I'd say chimps are 200,000 years behind modern man. The only reason I believe we developed a larger brain was because a genetic mutation gave us a smaller jaw, allowing more energy to be put in developing the brain. An animal cannot have a strong jaw, and a huge brain. Also, we have advanced vocal cords, this is why the Neadrathals(NOT HUMANS) were beaten by Modern Man.

Many people spend their entire carears communicating with chimps, but except there is no way they will ever learn our language. They would need many evolutionary steps to be able to speak. The debate is an interesting one. We've now observed chimps hunting in groups with crude spears, for example, in ways probably not that much different from the very earliest humans. The brain differences are significant, but it's unclear what they are significant of. Neandertal and the disputed Homo floresiensis have complicate the picture. The first is certainly not Homo sapien or genetically close, the second may or may not be, but both could be considered "human" in a more abstract sense.

It depends how you want to think about it. You could be a person who simply puts everything to groups just by their names or classes, For example: "No, its not an MP3 player, its an Ipod". Or you could think of it more by general structure and system, "It plays music, its the same thing." The clip was obviously meant as a joke, which they didn't hide. Those guys have a peculiar sense of humour. Now I don't know if it's really 99.4%; I think today it's considered a bit less, but the similarity IS in fact enourmous for all I know. But much of the similarity is in the non-coding dna, i.e. the dna that is either junk or serves some purpose other than making proteins. The parts that build ours or the chimps' bodies are not 99% similar, obviously.

Why don't animals have "family" reunions? Animal "packs" such as Lions Wolves Chimps, etc, that are together from birth hang out and "appear" to have a "hierarchy" structure where everyone knows who the boss is, and your in the family till death or till someone takes over the "top alpha".
