@dc5000123 A paper one. The backing is the stk. unit for the carb and the filter an cover are from a 10HP Kohler. Yea, I bet it would help a bit, I could get a K&N. I think I'm running around 7K on the R's an that's it.
Would like another 1000. That would be sick! 8000 on a stk. Briggs! I have a feeling I'm flotin the valves, LOL!

What type of air filter you running?
A paper air filter will restrict flow a little, but will give you the best mid-range throttle response with a float carb.
