Also what is needed is entrepreneurs who have the ability to drive the economy. People who can drive businesses will benefit the economy, and create jobs. At the lower end there is lots of room for improvement, and something drastic needs to be done.

There's huge lack of mathematically capable financial analysts, there's also lack of specialized engineers such as VLSI designers, C++ coders, penetration analysts, etc. The UK higher education system puts out a lot of people with skills that don't drive the economy: media, marketing, HR,... UK needs high-skilled immigrants, engineers and entrepreneurs. Semi-skilled work, and low-skilled work is what you are most likely talking about.

@TheCarpKid That is not completely true. You should look at the job market sector by sector basis, and not draw broad conclusions. Some especially the high-skilled jobs are lacking workers such as engineers, IT, programmers, mathematicians etc.
Also what is needed is entrepreneurs who have the ability to drive the economy. People who can drive businesses will benefit the economy, and create jobs. At the lower end there is lots of room for improvement, and something drastic needs to be done.

There's huge lack of mathematically capable financial analysts, there's also lack of specialized engineers such as VLSI designers, C++ coders, penetration analysts, etc. The UK higher education system puts out a lot of people with skills that don't drive the economy: media, marketing, HR,... UK needs high-skilled immigrants, engineers and entrepreneurs. Semi-skilled work, and low-skilled work is what you are most likely talking about.
