from the chipping around the drill holes, it look like this knife wasn't tempered properly or used poor quality steel. but one good idea i haven't seen in folders of this type is that the hammer-flipper acts as a finger guard once the knife is deployed.
@customtacticals It IS the flipper...I don't like the term "trigger" for it, but either way you you should mention that it's basically an M1911 hammer for those who don't realize that from the title. Thanks for the review on a unique knife!
It's a cool looking knife, but not something I'd pay alot of money for. If I get a custom knife, I want it to be something I'll use, and if I'm going to be carrying a knife that big, it's going to have to be either a fixed blade. In my opinion based on past experiences, a liner lock doesn't stand up to tough job you'd be using a large knife like that for very well.
I want to know why most knife manufactures only make them point down (the clips), as I prefer (and a lot of others as well) the point up carry in the pockets, as it is much faster to draw.
I would like to see more makers make an adjustable to either point up or down belt clip.
But I agree, the belt clip is very important to talk about.
Umm...... look at Spydercos, Benchmades, Striders, Sebenzas, or Even Kershaws..... Many knife manufacturers have been putting out alot of knives on which the clips and be moved to accomodate tip up/down carry, or only have the ability to reverse the clip for tip up. Maybe you're seeing something I'm not, because most companies that I buy knives from (like the above mentioned) I can carry tip up. What manufacturers have you been seeing that only have tip down?
Strider's are made for tactical use, so usually are made tip up carry and I cant think of one that is not
Sebenza Umnumzaan (I believe, am not sure)
Kershaw in their website only has 3 with a reversible pocket clip.
I dont know why you came off so hostile towards me, all I said is that I want more knives to be made reversible or at least made in the tip up carry position. Why so damn hostile? DAMN!
I really enjoy your reviews but you don't always mention the grinds and steels which I am always interested in first and foremost. Keep up the good work any how.
Holy crap that knife is huge. I'm kind of in a "less is more" phase right now and that thing is just the complete opposite of what I'd want. That isn't to say that it isn't nice though, cause it's very well put together. However, I'm more of a Snody fan. Beautiful knife nonetheless.

The thing you call the trigger is actually the hammer från the 1911. The hammer that hits the firing pin.. :P
nvrmndknasen 3 years ago
Yes, but on this knife it is the trigger of the flipper or the flipper mechanism.
customtacticals 3 years ago
oh, you mean like that :)

can u say some stuff about the clip next time?
henree 3 years ago
I'll try and remember to do that. The clip on this one is mostly unremarkable aside from the devil tail like appearance.

OK, for example in order that you mentioned:
Spyderco Dragonfly
Benchmade Opportunist
Strider's are made for tactical use, so usually are made tip up carry and I cant think of one that is not
