U people know nothing about hoilie making what you need to make perfect boilies is semolina Rice flour. Corn meal. Maize meal. Eggs. Powdered milk. Liquid flavourings and liquid coulerings :)
i have jst started makeing my own boilies bt cnt seem to get the consistency ryt i do u have to use all the things u use in your vid? when i have my paste its nt hard enuf its to soft an if i put it into a big ball an place it on the side it goes glat and dnt keep its shape any way around this?
and another question guys. when they have dried are they rock solid boiles? or are they soft enough to push a bait needle threw or do they need drilling? cheers. love the vids. liked and subbed =)
instead of rice flour can you use plain flour? and instead of oats what else could you use thats a general use that most people would have in the cupboard?
Hi Guys! I use a base mix that is 1/3 Semolina, 1/3 Soya Flour, 1/3 Maize Meal, then you add eggs to make it a dough, and your flavours. In your mix, could I subsitute the whey protein for soya flour, since whey protein is a bit expensive here?
hey boys, been watching ur vids really good. i used this and my boilies turned owt ok im in the middle of freezing them atm. i used porridge oats instead of oat bran cuz i didnt have any in the house! didnt work owt so weell but then i added some water and it was okk ! thanks boys !
I heard you say you use colors and flavors. What colors usually work the best for you in what situations? Also what are some of your favorite flavors you use? I am new to this whole carp fishing and want to give it a try. Sorry if you can't understand my language, I'm American.
@jtschid0910 ..anything pungent really mate...remember tho sometimes it takes a carp time to feel confident with a new bait so dont be put off if you dont catch straight away...keep putting the bait in and they will soon get on it
When fishing for RedHorse carp on the Vermillion river south of Chicago ILL. id use CORNFLAKES as a base mixt with CHEESE as a binder with good results . Another Exilent bait is caned CORN any brand . Pre_baiting an area two days prior consisted of perforating a #16 can of corn with pencil sized holes and attaching a stout line so id not leave trash in the area afterward and ensureing the can stayed put till i returned .
Flavouring you've developed? looks suspiciously like a bottle of liquid pineapple or liquid scopex to me you sure you made it yourself!? great video though definately gonna give this a go
Is it possible to add in any other ingeredients during making e.g. mashed sweetcorn or mashed luncheon meat? also what flavorings do you find work best for carp? Thanks!
made Some AQround 6 months ago and were In the freezer, Just a question but why dont we see Any blue bolies. Loved the basic Mix and on my first venture to my local lake my new lemon and hemp bolies worked a treat i picked up two mid twenty. Thanyou sooo Much !
Thanks dude. But say to say how many ounces that should be in something is like I whoud ask you what bäcköring means. Can't wait untill your next vid.
well i use a mix of oat flour, corn flour, and soy flour with some eggs so i should have enough protein. they seem to like it. biggest by rod this year was 19lbs. biggest by bow was 31
No, it's a good question. It's debatable whether a carp can tell if what its eating is nutritionally good for it, but about 75% of studies i've read show they can tell, and in tests they tended to eat a protein packed boilie before eating one with minimal protein. So we always add some just in case they really can tell. (of course they only know if it's good for them after eating some of these boilies, and associate the flavour with 'goodness'!)
do you mean the egg or whey protein? whey is a partly digested protein where absorption is pretty instant. Casein protein is more of a slow release substance, and the carp will find this hard to digest. Also the protein has 18 amino acids(9 essential) which all help in digestion and processing of the nutrients.
egg. it's the same with milks though, it's the utilisation of protein that's important - about 32% (iirc) is right. fish/meat/vegetable meals are by their nature more easily utilised than milks. Egg can actually inhibit digestion......
Ye man , made a ruck load load bout 2kilos ,dint use exxactly same recipe , used 8oz of groundbait and 4 oz semoline and 4oz of soya flours and six eggs came out perfect havnt had achance to use them yet , want to make my own pop ups next because i fish on the surface a lot of the time might try baking them insteead of boiling
Wow me and my friend really messed them up. I had my dad mkae them last tim but when we put them outside, some animal stole like 12 of them D:<< We ished but only caught 1 D:

my uncle told me, but this is only a very basic mix.

with the dry mix can u use anything what high in protein ???
fishcrazy100 2 years ago
pretty much, the egg has lots of protein so you dont need many high protein ingredients
spaggage08 2 years ago
there is, but the carp can't utilise it (break it down). it's a waste having protein that fish can't use in a bait.
