It isn't a smart phone, and I'd get the HTC Rezound if I were you, or the Samsung Galaxy S II Skyrocket if you have the budget. The Freestyle runs Brew MP, an OS just like Android, except designed for much more low-end phones.

i have this phone n i love it BUT! twice i've barely done ANYTHING to it and the touch screen stops working! n i've had to pay $150 to get a replacement phone and recently it happened again (the 2nd time) n im not gonna pay anoth $150 to get a replacement phone knowing it'll more likely happen again! :(

@missacihayat lag means that there is a latency in the image you see in a screen such as a computer monitor or a phone display and what you are actually telling it to do. movements will not be fluent and the image will sort of "skip".

This term is commonly used in computer games, especially when playing online, because your internet connection isnt able to recieve all information of other players movements etc. Imagine what you see when you're dancing in a club and the strobe lights are going.

I really love HTC phones. My first HTC phone was the HTC P3300 and later the HTC Touch Cruise. But as you know windows mobile 6.x sucks. Thank God for Google they made android. The only downside of the HTC hero is it came with google android 1.5 and it took more then a year for HTC hero to get the OTA firmware eclair 2.1 I had a lot of fun with my HTC Hero. My current android phone is the HTC Desire and i really LOVE it!!!

Guess i'll get a HTC, most of my friends have it.

And i've heard so much great about HTC that it must be good.

@CandianSuplex You can FOTA Updates it's "Firmware Over The Air". Turn your HTC On, Connect your HTC Hero to WiFi. Go to Software Update and the update's gonna do it all for you. No PC required.

@CandianSuplex It connects to the server (using your WiFi) and get the updates from over there. That's why it's FOTA. You just have to plug your cellphone into a power socket to make sure it won't run out of charge and the rest is the work of the Software update. It's gonna download it to your mobile phone and update it. You don't need to find it. Hope it'll help.

Seeing as there is no such thing as a company CALLED iPhone.. Apple would be the term you were looking for.
