i have a n97 and it crashes a lot, same for the 5800. Nokia should stop using symbian and change to android. when my contract is due i might get an android phone depending on what is out then. The N97 uses Symbian; possibly the worst smartphone OS that is in use (it was good a few years ago but has been ported to touch screens very poorly). How can you say that that is better than the HTC Hero!??

I use an iPhone and love it, but could see why this sort of handset appeals. I think people need to realise that functionality is not everything, its all about how the handset is implemented!

I agree that what the N97 offers is a lot more flexible, and if it had a good OS it would be a good phone. I have used the N97 and think it is too slow and not well put together. it is the hero update, the cupcake update doesnt come with that music player, or the browser ui.

the only thing that its missing is the hero home screen which is pretty cool, but cant run right on the g1 since its about 90 mb of ram short of the hero, so the home screen would lag. all in all ima try to update my to the hero update :)

Anyways, I wasn't talking about Android OS, I am pretty familiar with it and I do like it. It's the added complexity in the UI that makes getting the info I need quickly seem impossible. BlackBerry for instance, is simple and straightforward without the need for all the pretty UI. And the Curve earned the #1 smartphone position across North America too. All I am saying is that one day we will go back to simple screens.
