yeaa if you can read it says when available soo the code is still useful ... in the video it would say click to watch in high quality so its not automatically going to play in high quality when you start watching the video ... you have to click it

No you don't have to click the "Watch in high quality" link.

This setting makes the video automatically load the HQ link by default, so the code is pretty much obsolete unless you're sending the link to a friend who doesn't have this setting on.

ok actually I just found out the code IS useful for videos that don't have that "Watch in High Quality"

Like this video for instance. There's no "watch in xx Quality" link, but if you use the &fmt=18 code, you can view it in better quality...

but on videos that have that "view in xx quality" link. This setting makes it play on HQ by default...
