i've been planning a very similar build. You know, you could acheive a little greater stability in motion by adding some 2x4's under the pvc pipe, evenly spaced at about 3 or 4 feet apart. Also - there's a great (extremely simple) video on youtube regarding a Rubber Band. Try attaching a large rubber band to your dolly and pulling with it. It will almost completely elimitate the jar of motion stop and start.
Blimey, you must have spent more time making the animation than the actual dolly.

Nice. Put some 2x4's under your track. The whole point is that it makes for smooth footage. Your sample footage is NOT.

@gamiensrule The 2x4 can be a good modification. There is a lot of things you can do to get it better. Thats part of the fun with DIY projects.
