First IFV (BMP), first mass produced usage of composite armor (T-64), first mass produced gas turbine engine in a tank (T-80), first use of ERA in mass produced tanks (T-72 modifications), first ATGM able to fire from main guns (Svinets in the T-64, T-72, T-80, & T-90).
The West could learn alot from Russia. I really hope that Western & Eastern countries can meet again as allies on the battlefield again.

The XM2001 Crusader was cancelled in 2002 and the XM1203 NLOS Cannon is still in testing with an in service date of 2014 if accepted ! Which looks doubtful given the state of the US economy. That leaves the US with the M109A6 "Paladin" . Upgraded 1960s tech. lol

i think they do have automatic loaders. even if they dont they still have much greater range (pzh2000 up to 60 km/ g6 up to 70km) and much better accuracy. on the other side they are pretty complex systems and expensive.
im just wondering why the russians didnt upgrade their akatsya artillery similar to the americans who upgraded an old m109 to m109A6 which can even be considered equal if not superior to current self propelled artillery.
MSTA-S can be characterized as the best howitzer in the world. It is more compact than the German panzerhowitzer, has better secondary armament and equal gun. Plus bigger operational range.

same here, served in IDF artillery.. M109-Israeli version-. highli computerized, GPS, and Sataelite aiming system.. they say it is the most accurate howitzer in the world. but one dream hasnt come true -NO SELF RELOADING... this is hell on earth.. even though i was the aimer most of my service, loaded it alot in the beginning as a fresh-meat in the crew.

We can shoot over 50 km with RAPs and the fact that it can shoot MRSA is a very big deal. As a target, would you rather have 1 shot hit you or 6 comming at the same time? Instead of 100lbs coming down on you, 600lbs of expolsives land on your head. Big big big deal. But I guess it isnt to someone as stupid and ignorant as some wannabe Russian soldier.
the MSTA-S standard round is the Krasnopol projectile it has inertial mid-course guidance and semi-active laser homing and is capable of hitting target first shot without registration... at a range of 31km i might add... MSTA-S IS the best!

No its not. The excalibur has gps guided and has a range of 33km. Plus it can be updated in mid flight to hit another target if situations change. Plus it fires in a high arc so less collateral damage. And the Paladin can fire in MRSI mode which mean 6 shots that hit the same area at one time. Trust me, Paladin is better.

1) PZH-2000 n G-6 it's hasn't EVEN Automatic relouder(It's only semi-automatic) so in one day u can work only with 1 hand.

i think they do have automatic loaders. even if they dont they still have much greater range (pzh2000 up to 60 km/ g6 up to 70km) and much better accuracy. on the other side they are pretty complex systems and expensive.
im just wondering why the russians didnt upgrade their akatsya artillery similar to the americans who upgraded an old m109 to m109A6 which can even be considered equal if not superior to current self propelled artillery.

2nd MSTA(of other artillery system) has an upgrade!!! Coalition!!!(with 2 guns).

MSTA-S can be characterized as the best howitzer in the world. It is more compact than the German panzerhowitzer, has better secondary armament and equal gun. Plus bigger operational range.

PzH2000 had "monkey model" charge loader and this have semi automatic. I like my fingers very much so i prefer take MSTA-S than PzH2000 if i had to do that job.

same here, served in IDF artillery.. M109-Israeli version-. highli computerized, GPS, and Sataelite aiming system.. they say it is the most accurate howitzer in the world. but one dream hasnt come true -NO SELF RELOADING... this is hell on earth.. even though i was the aimer most of my service, loaded it alot in the beginning as a fresh-meat in the crew.

We can shoot over 50 km with RAPs and the fact that it can shoot MRSA is a very big deal. As a target, would you rather have 1 shot hit you or 6 comming at the same time? Instead of 100lbs coming down on you, 600lbs of expolsives land on your head. Big big big deal. But I guess it isnt to someone as stupid and ignorant as some wannabe Russian soldier.

The M109 paladin can fire up to 30km and which can be precision guided! That alone is enough to make it better.

the MSTA-S standard round is the Krasnopol projectile it has inertial mid-course guidance and semi-active laser homing and is capable of hitting target first shot without registration... at a range of 31km i might add... MSTA-S IS the best!

No its not. The excalibur has gps guided and has a range of 33km. Plus it can be updated in mid flight to hit another target if situations change. Plus it fires in a high arc so less collateral damage. And the Paladin can fire in MRSI mode which mean 6 shots that hit the same area at one time. Trust me, Paladin is better.
