If Chinese officials dont care about the Chinese people, why should they have mercy for the people who are not even Chinese? If you want some water why dont you pay for it (look at how much Malaysia is charging Signapore for water)? Water is a valuable resource and China is only acting in the interest of its own people to secure this resource.

Those dams they have built in China are bad ass. No doubt about that. It is true that they alter the conditions for the neighbors in lower elevations. I feel for these people, they have a legitimate complaint against China in an international court, China has the money to compensate or assist in adaptation, and if these people are to survive, they may have to adapt as well. It us not because of their own doing but they will have to adapt.

The Mekong River is so awesome! I've vacation in Laos so many times. I've seen the white river dolphins and the world's widest waterfall, Khone Falls in southern Laos. That's huge!

I agree. Shame on China. China is greedy. It's the largest Asian country in terms of land and population. The people in Laos will suffer greatly. One of my favorite country to vacation is Laos! I love their food, culture, and language. They have the world widest waterfall, Khone Falls in southern Laos! So romantic!
