As the head of a security agency in Alberta, we undergo use of force trainings, including handcuffing, baton, weapons disarmament, conflict resolution and self-defence. @Epiphany204 Only restricted weapons have to be it a locked case as well as a trigger lock and registration and permit to transport with it the loaded clip can be with the gun but most guys put in in there pocket for added safey. It is semi automatic rifles that have to be pinned at 5. Pump action shotguns are non restricted mine will take 6 21/2 inch shells and 5 3 inch shells but you can only legaly hunt with 3 shell so you put a plug in the magazine so it will take 1 in the pipe 2 in the tube

Legally, if a non restricted rifle is unloaded, and has a trigger lock, you could put it in the back window of your vehicle. Is it advisable? No. Someone would call the police, and because of the reason I stated, the police would pull you over and take you out of the car at gun point even though you are not breaking the law.
